I don't impose my standards on others.
I don't blame people for being products of their times and environments and I don't expect them to be passionate about issues not relevant to their day-to-day lives. Actually, it's unreasonable to expect otherwise.
I can accept the way things were twenty-five and fifty and seventy-five years ago and not be retroactively offended by the overt political incorrectness of past events, I guess their actually having happened that way and any individual participants were probably caught by chance in a moment otherwise unrepresentative of long full lives that ended years ago are reasonable defenses.
I appreciate overall context before nitpicking details. I don't see how continuously bludgeoning anyone with their obvious shortcomings ever helps, and an unfortunate slip of the tongue or similar faux pas can be forgiven even when recorded. Genuine newsworthiness is a product of when an event happens, not when it is leaked months after the fact.
I try to take into consideration most people didn't enjoy the advantages I had growing up, so much of my relative good fortune is because I'm a beneficiary of favorable soy-cum-stance.
