Well, I do go out, but only to lectures and museums and the library. And I don't think being drunk in any of those places would be good.
So I think I'll avoid it for now - If I got drunk at home, I'd end up coming on WP and typing a load of embarrassing nonsense. :P

I only go to Asda and the Civic centre which is our library, art gallery and a quiet cafe in the same building, as well as all the council offices and police lol. I love the library and art gallery here. I wish we had a decent museum tho...we only have a museum of archeology and a maritime museum. I love archeology, but would like a more general museum

We have an art gallery here to but I've never been in it. I would like to do.
There are quite a lot of museums here. We have Manchester Museum near my university, so I can go there when I have time before lectures. That's quite varied; there's Egyptian stuff, Roman stuff, animals etc There's a bit with live frogs, snakes and weird fish type things which I like looking at.
We have a few others as well like the Imperial War Museum and the People's History Museum. I like the Museum of Science and Industry too; there was a Titanic Exhibition there a couple of years ago which was good.

Getting drunk at home isn't really that much fun. Having a few drinks at home is OK sometimes but do it too much and you eventually come across as being a rather sad person.

"They" say sedatives ("minor tranquilizers") are much better than those minor sedatives ("alcohol").

I agree.

+10 I feel fantastic!! Plus I just got to eat my flax waffles!! Slightly burned is definitely the way to eat them! :D Now if only I could remember to bring a bottle of water with me to prevent dehydration in this heat and humidity. :)

Yay! Thanks. :D
And enjoy reading your new books. I'm just looking at a book about crime in Manchester in the late 19th century. There are murderers and prostitutes in it; it's interesting. :)

Another verse
another mute day
I’d probably only curse
if my voice had its play

That sounds interesting, I have a book from The Works here called 'True Crime' that has the newspaper articles of various crimes from the mid 19th century to the present...very interesting, I love old newspapers and ephemera. Had the money, I would have rooms stacked full of historical artefacts

So would I I think. :D
In our university we have issues of the Manchester Guardian (the same newspaper as The Guardian today) dating back to around 1850. I haven't had chance to look at many of them, but there should be some good articles in there. I have a book of newspaper articles covering the Titanic as well. I love old newspapers. I have a lot of photocopies of some from WWI etc.
There are some crazy people in this book lol. And a lot of men murdering their wives for not having their dinner ready when they got in from work or for 'refusing their sexual advances.'
