Does nobody think that it is odd that this guy abandoned his project for 16 years because of somone over the internet? He needs to toughen up...quit babying him.
Do you know the details or are you just assuming because you like to make people feel bad?
Do you feel nice and in control now you've mocked someone, over the internet.
I'm with emlion here. I turned against some life long interests over someone on the Internet, in spite of that person one time, because I was angry. It only took two and a half years for me to heal.
Oh hell. I changed wedding plans because I made the mistake of posting it publicly on my livejournal. My husband and I were considering a campy fun wedding with a pirate theme. It would've cost a bit and taken some planning but it would've been a fun party to have with our friends. My livejournal post was plucked by a former friend / former maid of honor (long story there) and she posted it on a wedding snark community and I was harassed for a couple months because my plans weren't "elegant" and "sophisticated" enough for a wedding. Total bull. But the experience really ruined the whole concept for me because then I associated making those plans with the crap I went through.
It's stupid and I should've been able to overlook it and let it slide off my back... but I couldn't. So we ended up having a pretty humble and inexpensive - but still very fun - wedding instead... that I NEVER talked about on my livejournal! And, understand, I've been doing this internet thing since 1993/1994. I know every dumb, trollish, spiteful thing that an internet stranger can do to another person. A lot of it does not bother me. But sometimes things do bother me... and what happened to me was enough to make me change plans for one of the really important days in my life... that didn't even need anyone's approval at all.
So people just have to be nice and knock off the crap.
