I thought that was felonies only.

We don’t have “felonies “ in Canada, our similar offence is “criminal “. Some US offences that are not felonies are considered criminal offences here. A common example are DUIs. They are criminal offences here and grounds for refusing an American admission to Canada. And there is no time limit to it. If you got a DUI at 16, you are still inadmissible when you are 60.

That's nuts IMO.

You can get a waiver, it’s called a “ministers permit”, because the waiver is granted by the federal Minister. You can get a one time waiver, but it costs. They talk of changing at times, especially the minor DUIs, but nothing yet.

...I lost a draft  . Well. at least it makes me rewrite it better.
I am in the main SC hospital, it's Friday. They say I'll get out tom'w and, again, get a couple in a motel, I guess, that same one I've done this " coupla days after the hospital " thing three times this year already??, also every other time, in a weekend. After that, back to the SA, which is a problem :( - as I anticipate the same "having to go out all day carrying my stuff " :( problem.
I came here because if the pain in my back  . As it turned out, I had enough fluid in my lungs and legs that I was admitted and given much Lazik.

...On a good news side, I got a make-up eye doctor appointment for Monday. However, what complicates it is that, judging from the previous pattern, the couple motel days might run out Monday morning. Combining checking out of the mitel WITH THE BALL AND CHAIN with trying to get to the eye doctor's office by bus,, and then, after it, making my way back to downtown and the SA - W/B.AND C. - especially presuming that the eye doctor will give me something to dilate my eyes.
Could I somehow stretch it to more than the two days it was last time? It'a odd, I can get these coupla days of motel, but I can't get more than this go-out-carrying-my-stuff-all-day - which is the point - situation.. The RCC I mentioned still seems to be elusive, getting a spot in in - whether it would be good or not, though the concept seems to promise a situation where I could rest some. I'm still trying to see if I can get some funds from that NYS lawyer. That could let me immediately stay somewhere and start too look for a storage space that was reachable and internally navigable by me - I'd need dosh/duckies for that.

...STUNVKED/fallen into a temporary room, I meant. Since it is raining this week, that is good - and I can rest some :) -but I don't't even really have enough money for standard food, now.

@ASS-P - I'm confused. Aren't you on SSI or SSDI?

He's on SSDI---but he gets it in weekly installments.

I think he has a payee, who gives him the money weekly.

It seems as if this "payee" takes a cut out of his monthly benefit.

@KK - Therein lies the rub. If ASS-P gets SSDI, how come he's always broke? I'm on SSDI and, not only do I have enough to buy Chinese food every day, but enough leftover to gamble at a casino. Fact is, I really just save my money waiting for a subsidized unit to open. It doesn't seem like ASS-P's in that same boat.

I'm still waiting to hear from ASS-P about it, though.

I think part of it is because he seems to have to replace clothes constantly, since he has an affliction which might cause frequent urination and diarrhea. Hence, he soils his clothes.

I think he also gets stuff stolen at times. Or a shelter or hospital might throw his clothes away.

Part of it is because he's not a fuss-budget when it comes to handling his money. He seems to be in sort of the "hippie" school when it comes to financial management.

He also prefers going to fast food places, rather than getting food at the soup kitchens.

...Immeidiate response to KK... Arguably first of all, in these months in SC I have been in hospital or rehab places... 80% of the time?? More?? And it is only, really, the last couplush weeks in and out of the SA shelter that I have been overnight anywhere else but a hospital/-ish situation, I believe.
Santa Cruz, Ezra also, dies not have the big-scale " soup kitchens " that SF has, two in particular which were, I will admit, my backbone. When I was in the SA there was a good supper at night, generally just some oatmeal in the morning, which I tended to be too slow getting up - both slowgettinguppiness, and that it did take me a bit to get my stuff together/packed up and get my CHF self up from a mat on the floor and just not super motivated for the oatmeal.

...I think I have not sent a night sleeping-iutside HL in all these months back in SC. I think it was the first - ?? - morning I was here that I went to.the HPHP and my right little piggy was found to be so infected that I was immediately admitted to l'hopital and it was amputated.. I had to be signed in for the season with the cold period-only SA shelter to be able to go, and that only happened recently, and bar the " special " shelter stuff at the HSC I believe they are the only game in town.
