How will I know if one is an Aspie just by looking at them? How do I find these people outside of a support group, whether online or in person?

That's the hard part unfortunately.

Just look for people that share your interests, go places you normally go.... online and offline ...and hopefully while enjoying the things that you like you'll meet someone that likes the same things...maybe they'll turn out not to be an Aspie, maybe they'll have some Aspie traits instead...or at the worst they'll at least hopefully be on the same page.
Take a second look at the quiet ones sitting off to themselves taking stuff in when your out and about.
Honestly, it would be a heck of alot easier if we all wore descriptive t-shirts...

That might be my game plan if I ever get brave enough to ever try it again, since I really stink at conversation somedays...."Single introverted 40 yr old, distracted by shiny things and flashing lights, likes to take things apart, enjoys quiet time, and memorizes numbers well...etc."
So I wouldn't attract much

...but at least I might quite attracting what I don't want....which always seem to be very extroverted, loud and obnoxious.
