Plus I might add that my dog is also in a cone, and refuses to leave the room with us.
He's a good boy, but it's like an obstacle course in here with all my furniture covered in sheets, and pillows / cushions / cat beds / dog beds / litter bin, and food / water bowls on the floor. Not to mention a 2 metre cat tree on its side on the floor, so she can't climb onto it.
Grumble.
It's going to be a very, very long week. I can barely even take a shower or leave the room to eat.
Showering was the most frustrating part of having a newly spayed cat. It's hard to leave the room for even just 15 minutes when your cat decides it wants to try to climb everything the moment you're not watching it. I eventually just started taking her into the bathroom with me and having her lay on a towel... Then she started jumping onto the bathroom counter.
I know, right!!
It's worse than having a newborn, because newborns aren't known to jump up on furniture if you blink or turn your back.
Newborns generally aren't sliced open, either. We don't have to worry about wound infections with babies.
I heard it only gets worse as the week goes on, because kitties' bellies will start to itch and they will have more energy for jumping around. They'll also be more frustrated with their cones.
I may have to post again between now and the 10th, when my life will presumably go back to normal.
