Yes. So annoying. Why should we always smile and be friendly? Maybe we don't feel like it or we have our own problems.

Unlike Britons, Europeans are allowed to show their feelings and no one worries.

Not sure if the delivery driver was being pervy or not just now but he waited til I opened the door to receive the parcel and took a photo of my legs and the parcel. I am wearing a sundress because the weather is so hot so the skirt is pretty short. Normally they take a photo BEFORE the customer opens the door!

Most drivers take care not to get the customer in the photo, most of them show me the photo they took to reassure me that I'm not in it.

He is lucky that he didn't take a photo of my 16 year old daughter's legs! Then I'd complain.

I'm so tired of crafters not understanding the difference between copyright & licensing for digital patterns. No, the copyright doesn't restrict you making things to sell. But the licensing of your digital copy of the pattern can. You don't own a digital copy; you own a license to use the digital copy. I wish places that sell digital patterns were more upfront & in-your-face about this during the purchasing process.

I basically exist in a bubble. Treading water, going round on a hamster wheel. No one (apart from my husband and daughter) really interacts with me, contacts me, understands me. I seem to be behind a glass wall, watching other people get on with enjoying their lives. The most I get from other people is a bemused look, or mockery. My life has been like that for the past 17 years, I wonder how to get out of this state, or change it.

I feel like I'm going to have a f*****g meltdown. I'm so tired of dealing with both of my piece of s**t parents, I hate having to listen to bitching and arguing 24/7. I moved out so I didn't have to deal with it anymore and my dad is still bringing the BS over here and getting me involved. I want to scream.

Not really a rant, but an eyeroll.

The gas fitter came round to fit our hob. He asked what my husband does for a living. He asked what subject my daughter studies. He didn't ask me what I did for a living, he assumed I was a housewife.

Not that there is anything wrong with being a housewife/stay at home mum, but I was that for over 10 years and I don't like people making assumptions just because I'm a woman at home.

I'm actually a qualified editor and proofreader, I set up my own business and I earn my own money working from home. But I didn't want to blow my own trumpet and volunteer that information.

Everyday sexism

You would have given the guy an education if you did.

But I get where you’re coming from.

That's the situation though. There was a man I didn't know working in my home, while my daughter was asleep upstairs. It was best not to get into challenging or difficult conversations with him, just keep things simple until he left safely.

I had to tell workmen off a few years ago for hanging around in my bedroom discussing their sex lives, so I am very wary of strange men in my home.

It was better to play the straightforward housewife than risk annoying a man I didn't know.

I know I'm kind of being sexist thinking all workmen are dangerous, but it's for safety reasons. I have to protect myself and my daughter from unfamiliar men. C'est la vie.

I'm sick of us Brits getting called racist all the time when we're not being even saying anything remotely racist. It then makes us look too white supremacist, which I don't agree with because we are not "better than" any other race. We are all equally human beings. But white people who go throwing the term "racist" around willy-nilly are actually the ones being racist because they're focusing too much on the minor detail (the colour of one's skin) rather than the whole picture. Why can't something be racist against Brits for once? I've seen several (American) movies where the villain is a British narcissist and it's never, ever been mentioned that it's racist. But if the narcissist villain was black or Asian, oh dear, there'll be a massive controversy on our hands.

And whoever calls me racist for writing this post then you are the one being racist just because I'm white and British.

Could it be a food allergy or intolerance? I used to feel really sick until I found out what I wasn't tolerant to.
