Another idiotic thing I done once was wear an expensive jacket to work, then get it ripped. It cost a lot of money and it's a lovely jacket but now it has a big hole in it. I've still kept it so that I can stitch up where the hole is but I'm not very good at sewing so it still sits at the bottom of my wardrobe.
I don't know why I was stupid enough to wear an expensive jacket to work. But the funny thing is, when I wear a cheap jacket to work it never gets caught or ripped. Sod's Law I believe, but I'm still stupid.

Hi Joe, have you considered taking your ripped jacket to an "invisible mending"/clothing alterations outlet? They can usually repair rips quite cheaply and neatly. If you show them the damage and ask for a quote, you can then decide whether it's worth the cost of getting it repaired.

Why do people at my work keep getting colds that they pass around to each other? Don't people have an immune system any more? Ever since September nearly everyone at work has been passing a cold around. It dies down for a couple of weeks then it starts all over again. I've never known people to get so many recurring colds in a year.

One of them is one of those people who coughs and splutters everywhere without putting his hand over his mouth or washing his hand. Actually he's the sort to shamelessly amplify every bodily function, which I think is rude. But those sorts of people are the ones who spread their germs around.

I think it's partly because people have been isolated for so long in lockdowns that we're all picking up every bug now. I've had a cold or covid since before Christmas and it's now April.

But I don't go spreading it around. I agree about those people who amplify every bodily function, they need to grow up! It's not polite.

It seems most people I know who have had covid seem to have been picking up colds, coughs, flus and sickness bugs ever since, every two months or so. Some people blame the vaccines, saying that they're weakening people's immune systems.

But me and my boyfriend have had the vaccines yet neither of us have had any viruses since 2019. As far as I know we haven't had covid either. I don't think he would be asymptomatic if he had got covid because of his health problems.

I had no colds during the lockdown/pandemic. The first one I got was in mid December 2022 and I've basically had it ever since, then covid itself, which I'm just getting over.

I don't believe those people saying it's the vaccine, I think it's just humans spreading germs, we're full of those.

Like when modern humans meet those uncontacted tribes in the Amazon, the tribes get sick immediately because humans are full of germs.

Some people conflate their own opinion for the truth, no matter how poorly informed their opinion might be.

Unable to sleep all night.
My plans for my last day of no work ruined.

I hate chronic sinusitis. Ruining my life as usual.

Just how many years of my waking life, and even non waking life did it cheated me out of?

And how many years it'll still keep cheating my years out of?

Edna.

Did you try giving up dairy produce?

I had years of my life ruined due to chronic sinusitis. It has permanently ruined my nose and sense of smell. I was so ill that I ended up going to a complementary therapist who diagnosed dairy intolerance. (the ordinary doctors didn't want to know)

What nonsense! I thought. But it worked. The day I gave up dairy products I started getting better. It took years but I haven't had sinusitis for a decade now.

These days there are dozens of good substitutes for dairy products, too.

Easter Sunday morning. As soon as the bastards upstairs get up they start arguing, thumping, banging, and the kid starts its drone of screaming and howling. Good job we were going out today, like normal people do on a nice, sunny long weekend, unlike them. I bet they never went out, they never do. Maybe they're tagged and mustn't go out because they're troubled. So it's us who suffers. And I run low on sympathy.

Weirdos. w*kers.

How would that help, if the whole point is that Joe wants quiet?

I want quiet but if that's not available I would rather listen to my own noise than someone else's.

I suppose noise is OK when it's your own lol.

But I wouldn't make a noise if they weren't making a noise first.

My boyfriend wanted me to sit and watch a movie with him but I couldn't do that (without noise-cancelling headphones) because of them up there. I do feel depressed that I can't even relax in my own home, which is meant to be my haven.
Perhaps that's why I keep getting ill.
