Don't give up, you've always seemed like a great guy to me. There surely has to be someone in your area, who you are compatible with, who can see that.

I'm at about a 5.

I am 100 miles from the nearest metro area, and even then, I am not limiting myself to a specific geographical area. However, due to financial constraints because I am a full-time college student, I can only date people in North America at this time.

That is at this time, what about after college, do you see your potential for meeting people increasing then?

I would be able to travel further after graduation, but I don't feel that anyone considers me attractive.

That is indeed me. The pic's a year old, but my appearance hasn't really changed.

Since I am very mature and hard-working, I feel I am someone who should have no problem attracting people. But that hasn't happened.

My usual 5.

Its a state of slight chemical euphoria (of my nervous systems own design) coupled with sort of an emotional longing and depression related to all the bigger things that I'm not getting done right now.

Its one of those weird things in a sense that when I'm at my most depressed, that euphoria turns more into something displaced and bleak, almost like I'm swimming around underwater. Stuff like that has me fighting the sensation that I'm somehow emotionally broken, its f'd but at the same time I think I still find my appropriate means of expressing and shaping it - I'm not a complete alien.

You are a few years older than most of your peers at college, aren't you? There's probably a maturity difference (you being more mature than most of the people around you) that is causing issues.

I'm 28 years old, so I am older than the majority of my peers. And college students will rarely date anyone older than 23.

The majority of students at my school are no more mature than high school students, and they still believe in the same social cliques that they did in high school.

This is why I limit myself to other Aspies, yet there aren't any in my town, and the nearest support group is in Fort Worth, over 100 miles away (and thus necessitating a long-distance relationship, which isn't a problem).

Well... I guess you should have no problem attracting people who are specifically attracted to mature, hard-working role models.

But maybe the people you have encountered so far online just want immature, playful equals.

Or maybe you should go after the playboy bunny type-- Hef always gets described as a "mature, hard-working role model"

hehe.

I am not a slacker, I don't just sit at home and play video games, and I never say anything offensive on here, but I still can't think of anyone who would be attracted to someone like me.

5- Things are boring, but well.

Tim_Tex, I don't know you, but you look great from your photograph, and your posts stand out because you have an intriguing, unique voice, at least that's what I think. Just have confidence. This is totally out of line for me to say, I'll shut up.

-2.

I had a pretty bad evening, involving:

- Running out of gas while driving.
- My dad getting mad because he had to come help me get gas.
- Getting a flat tire not FIVE MINUTES after getting back in my car.
- Losing my contact lens while examining my tire.
- My dad getting mad because he had to come help me fix my tire.
- My fingers and feet turning white and becoming completely numb while I waited for my dad in the really cold parking lot.

The only remotely good thing about tonight is that the flat tire happened at the library, so I checked out The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome while I was waiting. It looks very interesting. Other than that, my car is incapacitated and my dad is pretty pissed at me.
