This is very reccuring. I'm treated horribly because people put normal standards on me and say that I'm not autistic, but just A.D.D.(A.D.D. is a crock! ANYBODY CAN BE DIAGNOSED WITH IT AND NOT HAVE IT!)

The sad thing is I'm being treated badly by uncaring family members and some of them thought they had a right to hurt me because I'm family. It sucks being only 18 and not being old enough to purchase liquor to drink it all away.

I just consider myself not human, but a mutant freak. And the normal outer shell I have makes it even freakier.

first off... normalality is just a conception and can never truly exist also what is regarded as normal is simply ret*d lookm around you do you want to like that?

what you speak of is alianation and I have it too but I like it.

my words may be harsh but i feel it is the truth.

No, I don't find them harsh, but I look around and do want to be like that because it will end my suffering.

I personally think it would be much worse to be abnormal AND look abnormal. You couldn't even attempt to pretend that you're normal, which is sometimes the only way to get through life.

Wouldn't agree more!!

I have ADHD and AS until last year no one could believe I had ADHD or AS since in colombia psychiatrist science are not socially accepted. Only wakko's go to schrinks.

It's impossible to get people believe you whe you have both (even schrinks) cause seem to be that one contradicts the other. But when people is forced to believe you have one of this cause you are to mentally disabled they will always chose AD(H)D that seems like a propper tag for weird people, more than admitting you are autist (most people have that idea of autists that they are the ret*d kids hitting their head against the wall.)

Don't let this people let you down, you are old enough to start building your own world with the people you chose (and let your family out of it like I did, since they where more into hurting than helping)

but HEY!! ! THE WORLD IS BIGGER THAN THE STATES! you can always go to mexico or canada and get pretty drunk with 18 years... just hit the road and you will realise how cool an aspie can be in another latitudes! (try going to colombia... lot's of hot chicks will be trying to date you! believeme)

As for the money don't worry... try couchsurfing.org to find you a nice couch to sleep in.

Goog luck!

normal is an abstract and biased concept, and i think of myself as an evolved human rather than a mutant 8)

Oh its not that hard, seriously when you get to know a lot of NTs the irony is that we want their social skills, they want our intellectual skills, its a good trade off for me really, because all though I don't act normal, I can kind of pass by as a 'mad scientist' or 'genius'. Its good to be like that, because being like all the NTs might be fun for a while but if you'd experienced being aspie I don't think it would last very long.

My intelligence is relatively low, which adds more to the irony  . The only thing that is my AS calling card is my weird behavior.

Well then be proud of that!
Seriously it makes you who you are, if I were to suddenly lack my autism, I wouldn't be me, even if I kept the intellect, because its those funny little personality quirks that make us brilliant :D

Well, nowadays, I'm uninterested in being myself, which is why I want a big case of wigs so I can put on a different personality with a different one.
