So basically ive been in the psych ward for 10 days.... leaving my husband all alone with his bad leg. He ended up falling and then telling a nurse at the hospital about it who called 911 and took him to the hospital. He eventually had his surgery and he's still in the hospital. While in the hospital they diagnosed me with Bipolar 1, General Anxiety Disorder, Borderline, and Cognative Disorder. THey say I have a Cognative Disorder because my speach is broken, basically i'm better at typing full sentences than speaking them, I didn't even reallize I had these problems until pointed out to me. They even mentiioned Autism but said I would need testing to make sure. anyway I get home and tripped and fell and totally broke my ankle! Then I look on facebook and my uncle is saying this whole thing is me and my husband's fault... anyway somebody called adult protective services and they are trying to find a new place for me and my husband to live that is much nicer hopefully!

I'm sorry to hear about what you're going that. All of this hardship and pain you're experiencing may have some silver lining in the end!

Wow that sounds pretty rough! That is a lot to go through in 10 days.

Sorry to hear this but it seems like you may be getting the help you need - finding a better place to stay. I am recovering (almost 100%) from a broken ankle, and Kitty who posts in these forums also has a broken ankle. There are times, Angnix, when you need to simply accept not being able to do much, and just rest and recover. With the broken ankle you CANNOT do much moving, and your husband is also laid up. Maybe that adult protective services agency can have someone pack with you. Please accept all help offered, and if you need more than you are getting, request more and explain why.

Are you on Social Security Disability? I'm not sure if you have enough employment quarters to qualify, but your combined impairments (primarily psychiatric) ought to qualify you. You can apply for it online, and that might be a productive thing to do while you are idle. I applied for mine while home from work with pancreatitis. It gave me something to do.

Psychologically, acknowledging "I am unable to work" is very demoralizing. Look at it this way, you really don't know what the future holds; but you have certainly been trying very hard, anyone in these forums can attest to that. So maybe it's okay to be someone who gets - and deserves - help. I actually think that without the housing uncertainty you have had, you might be able to hold a job. So hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

Feel better soon!

I’m sorry you’re going through this.

I’m not going to ask what triggered all this because it wouldn’t be useful. I’m curious, though.

I really feel like you should take Bea’s advice to heart, and find a place away from those nutty relatives.

I know you need a rest now. But don’t give up your pursuit of those Nature jobs. For your gaps in employment, you can always say that you had to take care of your husband.

I like you, and want you to be happier.

Like the jackass I used to live with always said, family always knows how to push your buttons, which is why it’s a good idea to get as far away from them as possible, as well as cut off all contact with them. (Of course, that jerk was drunk and stoned out of his mind 99 per cent of the time.)
