Need to stop self harming and crying, ideas welcome.
Ok first off I'm not very well, I have a problem linked to my menstrual cycles that was just recently dismissed as anything physical by the doctor.
I have a lot of physical symptoms, pain, nausea, all my joints & muscles ache like I have the flu, I even get a sore throat & lose my voice. I have about 20 different symptoms, but the ones that involve my moods are getting very bad.
Recently I have taken to hitting myself, sometimes like 10 times in one 'session'. This is caused by the fustration of feeling ill for 2 weeks out of 4 and watching my hair drop out in huge strands (another monthly symptom).
I'm forgetting EVERYTHING (another monthly symptom), for instance I made dinner tonight for example, Turkey pasta bolognase,I took the tomato puree out of the fridge, and the rest of the stuff out of the cupboard, and I forgot where everything went when it was time to put it away, almost like i had never seen the items before in my life. Everything is SO BIG when I get like this, I wish I could have my f*****g period now before I do any more damage.
I just want to get on with my life, get some more ICT skills & pursue my interest, computing, on a more advanced level. I can't because I never know what mood I will be in next, I'm like jekyll & Hide on speed. One minute I'm happy, the next I'm crying, the next I'm angry, the next I'm laughing at nothing. Who am I?
I cry a lot in my 'sane' time, ( usualy 2 weeks, can sometimes only be one) before my symptoms start up again.
I cry because I know what I turn into the closer my period gets. I do not want this, I did not ask to be born, neverminf inflicted with this.
I need to see a specialist in either PMS or AS, but the doctor won't refer me being as I refused to take anti depressants. Prescribing that s**t is cheaper than sending me to see a real doctor.
Made me laugh that this anti depressant had exactly the same symptoms as side effects that I get each month too.
I live for the day my period starts, as I feel so good that week, all of this vanishes and I feel like me again.
Any ideas on how I can stop myself whacking myself when I get out of control like this, bearing in mind I forget most of it or don't even know I'm doing it. I have to stop doing it as it is really upsetting my boyfriend, who I live with. I feel the need to punish myself, everything turns litteral when I'm in my two weeks. Even dropping something on the floor earns me a set amount of self inflicted punches.
Help?

I'd find a new doctor, if I were you.
My sister was having major health issues. After a year of ridiculous tests, the doctor told her it was all in her head and referred her to a shrink. The psychiatrist listened to her symptoms and said, "You are totally normal mentally, but it sounds like you have food allergies." She sent her back to the doctor, who didn't believe it, and said shrinks don't know anything about physical stuff. She changed docs, had allergy testing done and found out that she has MAJOR food allergies (several of which are life-threatening).
Don't put a lot of stock in what a single doctor says. I'd look for someone new if I were you.

Autism specialist asked why I like anime. I shoulda asked her why her favorite color is blue.
exactly Like Hjane said
please please do yourself a big favour and get a really good quality and extensive allergy test, not the basic blood prick NHS test. that would be a great starting point as its sound like your system is severely compromised.
I would also consider going to see a reccomended and fully acreditated Natropath. they have a very through and insightful way of approaching froming a diagnosis. they ask alot of questions, will look into your lifestyle and ask you to keep a food dairy. this with the allergy info will help to isolate what exactly is causing this. One or more acute problems can cause huge imbalences over time and also create severe nutirent defeicencies that can cause acute symptoms.
self harm has been conected to allergies recently too. Also severe intolences like gluten or candida can make you feel like your going crazy.
i am sure that if you take informed positive steps and seek out good professional help things can change very quickly. i have expericenced very similar things and i think if your healthy the hitting will stop like with me (I was severly ill before i gave up gluten for example) and seen it happen many times to others, it feels amazing when you finally get over something you thought would never end.
My symptoms were very much like yours in one sense. I was not absorbing nurients (flu like, cold, spaced out, weak) as i was celiac (gluten problems are very common on the ASD) and i had a sytemic candida infection (icthy throat, spaced out, sugar craving). my body would go tight and tense i would panic, my whole life revolved around that as i was sure i was just mad or i deserved etc. Now post gluten i am so much better my body dosent hurt much at all and i play sport and feel much more stable minded.
good luck
(sorry i know i am a guy and this is girly stuff, but i do sincerly want to help)

This would cost me hundreds of pounds I do not have.
Hi, Miserylovescompany. It sounds like you need to find another doctor, despite having just changed to your current one- you shouldn't have to put up with this degree of discomfort. Have you considered going on the contraceptive pill? It doesn't suit everyone and it can have some side effects, but it certainly can greatly reduce PMS symptoms. Just about ANYTHING would be better than the suffering you're enduring at the moment, I think. I really hope things improve for you soon. Jenny
