Sometimes using positive reinforcement quotes like that can have the opposite effect. That is if you are like me. If you are tired and worn out then you need to rest and recover. Being tired can contribute to being in a lull.

Or do something else that can energize you and get you going again. A little exercise doesn't hurt either no matter what your strength level is at.

The main reason to give up for me is fear/panic...

This mantra seems to work for me:

Quote:
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

please don't give up. it's odd--this is where hyperfocus can come in handy, i've found. sometimes i felt so suicidal, i wasn't sure i could go on. but, you know--puzzles, games, favorite topics---who can resist?

please do what you need to do for yourself to keep yourself on the planet. life's very worthwhile, and so are we. can't afford to lose a single one of us.

Hi RichardBenson- this is one of the most positive things I have ever seen you post (including the snow pictures) what's the secret :) ?

I've been thinking about giving up too. It's so hard sometimes.

Made an appt with a counselor for the first time ever- I meet her in two days. Can't wait. Been thinking about giving up and managed to give up on that idea. I found something meaningfully creative to do. It really is helping.
