I find that if I'm very stressed, or upset, I tend to turn to food. I like the sensation of chewing something up, the way I feel that I'm chewed up, by the people in my Life. Little things set me off, such as the unsophisticated Spoken Grammar of today's North Americans, or being told something that I've known for years. I need a stress release and food just doesn't do it, for most people, for a reason that shows. I get plenty of exercise and I've been sleeping better. I need some alternatives, because I end up hating myself, when I eat out of frusteration, or pain. I end up feeling like a loser.

As many pints of your poison of choice as you can drink tends to go down well. But not on an empty stomach.

Being serious for a moment: try to keep yourself busy. Every minute you're keeping your mind occupied on other things is a minute you're not thinking about stuffing your face. Eat plenty of fruit and drink plenty of water and non-fattening juice, too.

I like a glass of water, and then maybe another. If your stomach is full of water it has second thoughts about filling up with food.

I also consider getting a lot of carrots and celery and cutting them up and stocking the fridge with these - if they're convenient - hopefully I'll snack on them instead of something that actually ends up on my hips.

I stop buying chocolate and biscuits and chippies etc.

If I feel hungry and I don't want to eat, I can go for a walk around the block. Usually I don't feel much like eating for hours after some vigorous exercise.

On the subject of water, flavored water can be really satisfying. I like the Fruit 2o flavored waters.

hides the two empty boxes of Hostess's Donettes.

I was going to say excercise, but, you already said you get enough.

Yoga and the power of 'breath'
A tounge piercing--I've had life long oral fixation, chewing fabrics (towels, sleeves, ect), anything plastic (pen caps beware!); it all left me with the addition of a tounge ring.
Veggies? I know their a b*** to cut.

When I'm very stressed and/or upset I like to go for a long walk. Preferbly far away from other people. It helps me a lot.

Watch TV or be on the computer or read or play videogames if you have any.

Hi - another wonderful use for stimming....

By the way - do you ever play with food. I find arranging it on my plate to be more fun than eatting it - except then it gets cold and I dislike coold food
