For those of you who have both, do you separate them and see certain things as only from depression or only from ASD?

I use the unique mental abilities of the Asperger's to assess and treat the depression. It's great for startling shrinks when you can give them a more finely nuanced statement of symptom status than they've ever heard in their lives.

I see my depression as coming from frustrated or unsatisfied natural instincts, and I see some of my ASD as having played into that since my depression is related to social issues and my shortcomings have helped to cause them.

Sounds about right for me too. Was always the odd man out, then the need for companionship hit about 5 years after high school. Got into a depression when a very good friend of mine did the "drop off the face of the planet" routine without so much as a goodbye (granted, i only met her online, but i was interested where apparently she wasnt :( ).

I simply take care of my depression (naturally) to allow the flowering of the ASD positives to take place unimpeded.

Natural anti-depressants (in order of my experienced effectiveness)
Uridine
St. John's wort
Fish oil
Lithium orotate (In some areas lithium is naturally in the drinking water. Such areas have a lower suicide rate)
Aerobic exercise
Cannabis
More can be found by googling depression natural remedies "depression natural remedies"

I think stress is a major trigger for depression if you're wired that way anyway and life is stressful when you don't fit and everything is confusing and hard.

Yes, it certainly is.
