Ok....I'm a little confused by "and will not take any treatment for it" when she is in a coma.
Do you mean to say treatment is not working? or is this a situation where her parents are refusing to let doctors treat her because of some stupid religious belief on medication?

If it's the former, i'm sorry to hear that and I hope it all works out for the best for her. If it's the latter, then a lawyer needs to get involved. There is legal precedence in this situation and the state will remove custody from the parents and treat her properly if the parents are the ones saying dont treat her, there was a ruling on this just within the last year or 2.

Still confusing. She's in a coma and she's under the age of 18. So it's not her decision to be made. She kind of cant refuse medication unless her parents or legal guardians are agreeing to it as well. In situations where a kid is physically resisting, refusing to swallow, pulling out IVs etc, they just sedate them, but since she's in a coma they should be doing all the treatment they are capable of doing.

Sorry to hear about your friend Shenzie. How is she refusing treatment though if she is in a coma?

Hmmm...I'm confused as well.

Could it be that this girl is refusing treatment because of her religious beliefs? There is a case in 2007 where a judge ruled in favor of the 14 year old boy who refused transfusions because he was a Jehovah's Witness and that is against their beliefs. This is in the US.

I don't know the circumstances or the laws.

Maybe the family respected her wishes because the cancer was advanced and they didn't want to subject her to further invasive treatment?

Many times it's not as simple as forcing someone to accept treatment. :(

I'm sorry I couldn't help you.

Maybe she refused treatment and ended up in a coma because of it....?

I remember last month you posted and said your best friend had attempted suicide over a relationship and was clinging to life. Later you said he hadbeen pronounced dead and then much later said he survived. It's hard not to think you are playing a game here. If I'm wrong, I am sincerely sorry, but this story and the last one do not make sense. Is this your way of connecting with people? There are better ways. Anyway if I'm wrong .

You are not wrong. Shenzie is craving attention, apparently. But instead of posting about the real issues and asking for help or at least for advice, she chose these elaborate fantasies instead.

I posted in the other topic and basically said that I didn't believe her story about a friend who died and came back. (Duh! ) But my post disappeared. I guess moderators deleted it.

It's a hard thing to say, especially when you are thinking that someones pain is real no matter how misrepresented. I hope Shenzie will come to know in time she is welcome here to talk about her real self.

She is welcome here, of course! But she needs to open up and talk about her real issues. These fantasies aren't healthy, and other forum members indulging the fantasies are really hurting more than helping.

*Reminder: This is the Haven, not a place of judgment.

True, we cannot judge here, for we do not know the circumstances. All I know is that this is The Haven. This is an outlet for pain. I cannot judge whether Shenzie is telling the truth or not---it is not my place. But, I do since pain in her post, and she needs support. I can say that not much surprises me anymore---and I believe that this situation that she has posted can very well be true---so I will treat it that way. For this girl, a miracle is indeed what is needed. Like others here, I am concerned about her making such a decision. I do not know the legalities of this, but I do since that others here are accurate in that it is her parents' decision to make. Please keep us informed and updated on this critical situation. I, and I know others too, will be thinking about her and you.
