In my house there is always someone home. There is always someone leaving and coming back it. It's annoying. Every time someone walks out the door or goes to sleep someone else is coming out. And the most annoying thing is the way my mom acts. She's always telling me to do something and clean up, when I'm neater than her.

I understand!

So your goal may be to get a job that allows you to move out and live on your own, alone.

That does cost more than choosing a roommate, but life is a balance between what we want and what we need. I have always chosen living alone vs having the savings of a roommate.

It just happened again!! ! Im sick of it, and I tell them, but they don't care. When my mom leaves my brother somehow wakes up from sleeping and turns on the tv behind me. It's so annoying.

When I think back to growing up with a houseful- six in the family- yep that was tough! I shared a room with my brother (cheap bunk beds that sagged down on whoever was in the bottom bunk) and once in a while when he was out doing something I could shut the door and have some alone time with a book.

Also I was lucky (didnt realize that at the time of course) to have some woods at the end of the street where I could take a walk by myself. Sometimes I used to take our cat for a walk there- nothing like taking a dog for a walk as you can imagine- I would walk for a minute or so then wait 5 or 10 minutes for him to catch up.

My wife knows that I need plenty of alone time for sanity. I guess because I've insisted on it over the years. We coordinate schedules so that I have the occasional weekend day to myself or weekend road trip to myself.

One of my neighbors is single and almost always alone. I think that would be too much alone time for me.

Carl

What would be a good way for you to get more alone time for your sanity? Maybe think of a new hobby or interest which has some escape time built in- like fishing for instance. What are some other ideas?

I don't like living with other people, either.

I agree, it's horrible not to have enough time to yourself. For example, I'm on my summer hoildays (It's summer in Australia) and for some reason, everyone decides to take their annual leave days right when I want to be at home, alone, enjoying myself. Six weeks and I only get two to myself...

Terrible. Still, I'm at school for three more years, so I'll just have to deal with it.
