I am quite worried at the moment because I keep forgetting really simple things such as how to dress myself, what order to do things in and even sometimes what happened just a few minutes ago. I find this strange because although I have always found this difficult (but a recent test showed I was good at sequencing... strange) it has got so much worse now.

I can only think of a few reasons this might have happened. First (and most likely) the stress I am under recently is making me forget things, Second: I have finally banged my head one too many times and have knocked my brains about... Third: um... I'm not kidding I had a third but I have literally just forgotten it.

I have started to make picture charts to remind me not to put my pants on my head etc. but I was wondering if anyone else might have ideas of what to do. My psychologist is not takin me seriously at all and it is really worrying me. I'm only 21 so it isn't like Alzheimers or anything...

The forgetting what happened a few mins ago has happened to me but it's more like my brain reboots and I forget what I was talking about. It happens more regularly to me when I'm tired and/or stressed.

I would guess that the reason this is happening to you is stress, perhaps finding a way to calm down would help. That your psychologist is not taking you seriously could be adding to the stress. Perhaps a walk or run (if you like doing this), or something else that relaxes you may help this kind of thing happen less.

It's probably the stress. When I get really stressed out, I do stupid stuff like... put the remote control in the refridgerator, walk to the mailbox and forget why I'm outside, etc.....lol Seriously, stress can wreak havoc on the mind, especially the memory. :)

Good to know I'm not the only one getting fracked by the mind reboots. Don't you hate when they happen mid conversation and the other person is just staring at you but you don't have the slightest clue what you were just talking about?

Yes, it's quite frustrating.

It would be worth going to a Doctor, while it's possibly nothing, there is also the possibility it could be something very serious, there are diseases other than Alzheimers that can cause that sort of memory trouble. Especially the stuff like forgetting how to dress.

It probably would be worth seeing a doctor about it. I'll wait for a while to see if it goes off first because I am pretty certain it is stress. I had an MRI recently for something else so I am sure anything scary would appear on that. Yes. I too forget what I am saying halfway through a sentence although I have always done that!

I had that.

Are you eating properly? After my husband died, my friend kicked my butt, and made me eat properly - Weetabix and milk for breakfast, lunch, dinner, with veg, fruit and carbohydrates.

I started thinking more clearly.

Unfortunately, I'm also depressed and demotivated, so it makes me not want to eat, and it's a bit of a vicious circle. I'm saying this last bit just so you know that I understand how difficult it is in reality, even when part of the solution seems so straightforward.

I feel a lot better now. Ive had a bad few days with my TS and psycologists have been telling me I might have personality disorder and stuff but I just basically telling them where to stick that diagnosis because it is blatently Tourettes related...

That's a different story. When I realised it was my TOURETTES and not BORDERLINE PD that was causing all my problems, my stress levels immediately decreased and I am no longer losing my memory so much. I am still having trouble sequencing but that's pretty normal for me!
