Hi Einschmidt, you might like to consider talking to someone about it. Sounds like it has a compulsive element to it? Sometimes I unplug my computer from the internet when I feel the urge to procrastinate. Perhaps you could try doing the same thing when this feeling strikes and plug back in when the urge has passed? When my mind is ruminating on something I usually try and distract myself by watching a DVD. I find it interrupts my thought pattern, at least for a while.
