I'm really scared about Autism Speak.These guys creeps me.I fear that they might come to my house and take me in an asylum were they would castrate me and give me a lot of chemical stuff to cure my AS.I'm also scared because no one do anything against them,not even the governement...

I talked about this to my mom.About my fears regarding Autism Speaks.She said I was riduculous and paranoid.That the Autism Speak group was just a joke,that they weren't serious and that that cure research thing was just false and unfounded rumors(!).She doesn't want to hear my point.How could I talk reason into her??

They're annoying, but they are nowhere near powerful enough to take you away from your home, nor do I suspect they would want to. Don't worry.

I don't think I've ever heard of this group. I've heard of the site, no clue if it's the same thing.

Autism Speaks can't do anything to you on their own. What makes them dangerous is that they are convincing parents of Autistic children and the public at large that Autistic people should be 'cured' until they cease to exist, even if that means testing unborn babies and aborting them if they test positive for 'possible' Autism. That is scary, but its not an imminent danger to you.

If your Mom thinks they are a joke and not to be taken seriously, however, she is dead wrong. They are a brainwashing organization preaching eugenics. preemptive euthanasia and genocide, in the guise of humanitarianism.

yeah... i've never heard of them taking people away, only misinforming the public for the benefit of themselves. i also don't think they have the legal power to take you away from your home, as they are not the government and you are legally still a minor, right? so you are under the legal protection of your mother, as well. (<-- actually not sure if i worded that properly, but basically your mother has a legal claim to you.) unless autism speaks actually break a law of some sorts and is caught, no legal action could be taken against them. so, neither would i worry.
