It has happen before to me by my parents. :-( Dad got mad at one of my sisters and I said hey you don't need to get all upset like that etc. he snapped MIND YOUR OWN BUISNESS! I got a tear in my eye and quit cooking my dinner and ran off to my room. Something he accuses me of always doing but IMO what else am I to do? I stand up for myself/them yelling at me/little sisters and I get stuff threw in my face. :-( So "Standing up for myself" doesn't work out to well. I know I need to move out etc. but it's just sad constantly my parents at time drive me to tears.

Well, really, your not the parent so if your sisters deserved to get yelled at then it really isn't your business to get involved.

I have heard this, and struggle with it.

People say things about other people within earshot. I can't HELP but hear it. But then if you admit that you know it, you are accused of "eavesdropping." (um, hello, you knew I was standing here.)

I think this is one of those things that you're supposed to pretend not to know, even though everyone knows that you know.

HOWEVER, what you might be able to try to do is after the fight has blown over between your dad and your sibling ... say, a few days or a day, you might be able to say, "Dad, I just wanted to let you know that when you're yelling at my sister, it really scares and upsets me?" Might cause him to rethink things.
