I'm not labeled with AS but have most of the symptoms, and I'm watching my young son go through so many of the same things i went through. Potty training has been hard, he's more than willing to try once on the potty but I'm not sure if he knows it's time to go on his own. His babysitter thinks its crazy that he isn't completely trained and he's not even 3. There are days my son cries when he hears its time to go to the babysitter, which I just thought of as a small child preferring to go home. Today my son had an upset tummy and had an "accident" and the babysitter barely spoke to me. I shudder to think what she must have made him feel like. I'm looking for another place but of course I'm worried about the same thing happening at a new place, and of course my son adjusting to the changes. Why in the world can't people in childcare understand that not every child develops by the book? When you mention sensory processing problems they just look at you like you're making excuses. So much for NT empathy, huh? Sure they'll empathize with anyone who is just like them.

broom her fast.

We have a saint of a sitter for our kiddos. She loves them like they are her own.

People like that are out there.

Get rid of her, right away. She seems like a drill Sargent.

I asked my 2 year old about it, I asked him if he had to sit in time-out. He said, (babysitter's name) spanked me. I go pee-pee potty." I'm so done with her. I've found two people to interview, one of them has a child with Autism herself but is farther away and more expensive. But he's not going back there.

I'm glad you got rid of her. She can now find herself a clean, little NT 2 year old to babysit, to her heart's contempt.
