What aspie guys share in common
I've noticed since I discovered this site that aspie males have a lot of different religious and political views and a lot of different likes and dislikes. It's difficult to think of anything most or even a lot of us share in common. That's why I have made this thread - to think of things I suspect at least a lot of us have in common and make us feel more alike for a few moments.
-We think misshannahminx is hot.
-We like rock n' roll.
-Those of us who aren't vegetarians like meat. We like rare meat. We like fried chicken. We like spicy meat and we think we're tough for being able to handle it.
-We don't find old pixar movies any less funny than when we were young and we aren't ashamed of that.
-We either hate Super Smash Bros. becuase it is so chaotic or love it for the same reason.
-We don't understand shakespere when we read it in the original text, but when we read the modern translation we can actually respect the guy.
-Not all of us like electronic music, but a lot of us who don't still like Gary Numan because he's an aspie.
-We think Matt Groening, Monty Python, Lev Yilmaz and Billy Connely are funny.
-We watched adult-oriented cartoons before we were old enough.
-We love YouTube.
-Whenever we hear someone declare an absurd standard for masculinity like "real men are good Christians" or "real men vote Republican" we roll our eyes and think "idiot".
-We like to see guns in movies - even though many of us are for gun control.
-We would like to be genius like Einstein, but we think it would also be awesome to be a warrior like William Wallace.
-We hate guys who are more popular than we are and we like to think of them as being stupid, materialist, cruel sheeple.
-We wish we were a masked hero like Zorro or Batman.
-We like Bevis and Butthead becuse they're like us.
-We have a gentle, caring, poetic side - although a lot of us hate to admit it.
-Some of us think we're "too smart to not read books" and turn up our noses at those who don't read them. Others of us think we're "too cool for books" and turn up our noses at those who do read them.
Hopefully this thread helps many guys here to respect themselves and each other a little more.
This is the only one of those statements that I can completely identify with.
Have no idea who or what misshannahminx is, zero interest in video games, think anyone who can't appreciate Shakespeare as written, is an illiterate imbecile - same for fans of YouTube and/or, Bevis & Butthead (and if I thought they were like me, I'd kill myself). Not impressed with Gary Numan no matter what his neurology, I do not find the notion of being run through or hacked to bloody pieces with a sword to be glamorous or appealing in any way and prefer a gun in my hand to one onscreen. Written language is the repository of human knowledge therefore books are sacred and will endure long after technological civilization lies in ruins and that should tell you what I think of people who turn up their noses at books. I'm not convinced there is such a thing as an adult-oriented cartoon, I suppose it depends on your definition of 'adult'. Pixar, Schmixar. I love Batman, have loved Batman since I was a small child, but I would never be able to swallow my feelings of humiliation at the idea of wearing a Bat-cowl and a cape in public. I have no problem with people more popular than me, because mass attention is one of the least desirable things in the world and they can have it all. Indifferent to Matt Groening, Billy Connely is pleasant, but unremarkable. Oh, and that gentle, poetic side - I did have that, once upon a time - enjoy that while you can, life will beat it out of you before you're thirty.
I hardly fit any of those criteria for Aspieness. Does this mean I've marked myself as a freak and an outcast? Hey - how come that wasn't on the list?
Figures - the only list I ever seem to match up with is somebody's sh*t list.
She's a youtube user who I think is a cutie muffin.
South Park. Am I the only one here who watched South Park When I was too young and mom told me not to?
Figures - the only list I ever seem to match up with is somebody's sh*t list.
Some the things on this list are more related to maleness, some are more related to aspieness and aspie pride, some are just related to being human in general, some were just put on because I thought they would make people laugh - together. The main purpose of this thread was to promote mutual respect among male members - to see if there is anything most of us agree on dispite our frequent disagreements. Another purpose of this thread was to make some of the more nervous, self-loathing male members on this site feel manly for a few seconds. It's a good feeling. I thought it would be good of me to give some people on this site a slight ego boost.
I will admit that most of the stuff I listed applies to me (but not all of it). I'm glad you relate to one of the things on the list. Did that give you a bit of an ego boost? If so, my mission has been accomplished.

1. Who?!
2. Yes
3. I guess…
4. Yeah!!
5. No interest in video games (though that probably makes me a rarity among Aspies, lol)
6. ???
7. Well yeah, “Cars” Idk his other material though so it’s hard to say
8. Matt Groening FTW!! Monty Python has its on and off moments, IMO. Idk who the others are
9. No I didn’t!!
10. Yep
11. Oh yeah!!
12. Are you crazy?! I DON’T like seeing guns in movies!! Actually I think a lot of times I don’t care to notice
13. The Einstein statement I can agree with
14. Depends on the person
15. Ehhh….maybe, but not often
16. Ummmm….’fraid not, sorry
17. Yes – and I DON’T hate to admit it!! I’m PROUD of it!! !
18. I like books – but I don’t judge those who don’t like ‘em
These are mostly gross exaggerations, and I hope the OP realizes this and that he/she MEANT to generalize here.
The only things I don't relate to are super-spicy meat (though I love it rare), gary numan who I'm not sure I know, and super smash brothers, or video games altogether. I haven't played video games in years. And I despise Halo with a grievous passion, as a matter of fact...

-Not a fan at all, I didn't realize that has her until someone dropped a photo. Gaaaah attention whore.
-some, sure.
-more of a poultry type, not usually fried
-I never really found them all that funny. However I still enjoy them a great deal.
-I don't mind it, I just find it to be a hard game to really get lost in because so much isn't in your control.
-I understand it, I just sort of dislike it. It goes against everything I stand for from a literary standpoint. Suppose it's respectable.
-Numan is cool.
-Don't know the second to last guy, otherwise sure.
-yes
-sort of
-never heard anyway say that to my face, but ok. I probably wouldn't literally do it though. No need to start a fight with someone who probably isn't very bright.
-sword guy, don't mind a gun or two.
-I don't know, being a genius would probably make it even harder to relate to the average person or have a convo without being bored to tears. It would be nice to live and die by the sword, but I appreciate the longer life span the modern world brings.
-nope, I accept that normal people generally like normal people who are good looking and lucky. Not genuinely talented/unique people.
-no thanks, II don't have the funds or skill. Nor do I wish to introduce so much chaos into my little sphere.
-no
-???
-I just read books, no real image enhancing ideas really in mind.
