I am trying so hard to make friends, be adult, and generally have a life. I always end up burning out though, and getting really depressed. I think today might be the first day of a burnout.
Bleh.

I've experienced that type of burnout at my first job, due to social situations, of that sort.

Yup. I try not to schedule social events too close together. I need to recover.

I feel like I've been burning out daily since I started this job.

I don't know what to say. Misery loves company? I'm sorry you're feeling so bad. Take care of yourself.

I've had what might be the beginning of a burnout this week...it tends to start with a lot more hypersensitivity, headaches and lose of interest in things.

I've done that more times than I care to count. The primary thing you need to focus on is figuring out exactly how much interaction you can handle in any given setting, without getting too stressed, and try to avoid going beyond that. If you can pull that off, life will become a lot easier.

The primary question once you've figured that out is where you can find employment or schools that won't push you beyond that maximum of social interaction. (Can be difficult, depending on where your tolerances lie.)

That happens to me after a busy day. The unfair part is that it lasts longer than one day. I can feel it sort of creeping on. I am disinterested, cranky, and really tired for two days afterward.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I've been trying so hard, but I did too much. Now I've got to try and build up my social interraction from the beginning again.

Heh, being social, burning out.

Been a cycle that I've grown to get used to in life.

Plus.. i only take 1 real week of holidays a year.. and i think there's a larger cycle built around that too... Cause on that week, i head for the hills (literally) wilderness camping.

Sometimes a 1 day social, 1 day solo will keep me okay... but even that build up and i need longer.
If my job wasn't so social in it's nature (dealing with customers face to face) i might even be able to get to 2 days social, 1 day solo and maintain.

Problem is.. the longer i push it, the worse the burn out.... in a real bad one now.
Think i'm gettin' close to recovery though. Hope I am.

I took a week off hibernating and I think I've managed to avert a full scale meltdown. I just have to be careful not to put myself in to too much social stuff all at once.
