I'll probably be ok in the morning but at the moment I'm stressed. It's been building for the last two weeks. My Uncle and cousin and a work mate of theirs have been staying in our house while doing up the garden. My usual spots to go when I'm really stressed are the spare room and the living room (both are being used as sleeping spaces). I can't get away from people when the only places where people don't think to look for me are taken. They were supposed to go home today.

Don't get me wrong, I like my Uncle and cousin, their work mate seems nice too. It's just that I haven't been able to find space where I could just be alone.

I feel stressed and my Mum doesn't understand why I'm feeling so stressed, or even how stressed I am perhaps. My bf has a friend who came up today and the only space for him is in our (me+my bf's) room, I'm going to sleep in my Mum's room with her.

I'm feeling really tired and I don't think I've had a good nights sleep in about two days. I know that other people have bigger issues but this thing has been getting me down.

I used to feel that way, when I was living with my parents, and we had company. You are not alone. I hope you feel better in the morning. :)

I hear you. Hope you sleep well tonight.

Does music help calm you down? If you have an MP3 player, find your favorite songs, stick in the earbuds and go to sleep to that.

Thanks for the suggestion and well wish :). I can't sleep with noise but I'll try listening to music tomorrow if I'm still stressed.

Exactly what you describe is why I now have a rule that no one may crash in my home. My partner had a friend move to town from across the country and he stayed on our (half-sized) couch forever (or so it seemed) and I had a breakdown. Then a couple of years later, one of my partner's friends broke up with his live-in and stayed on our couch and I had another breakdown and that's when I realized the causal connection and said the new rule is that no one may ever sleep on our couch/floor/whatever again under any conditions whatsoever. There are only two rooms in our apartment as it is and there's not enough room for the two of us, let alone anyone else. At all. The law.

I just can't function when too many people are in my space. And in a space this small, any people are too many people.
