Here is what I mean.

Imagine someone(with no disabilities of any kind) asks you how to do something (something really basic) and you gladly show them how over 10 times and they still don't get it.
Do you feel like punching them or do you maintain the gladness you had the first time you showed them?
Do you get the feeling that sometimes people pretend that they don't know how to do something just so someone else will do it for them?
Do you agree with the happy bunny quote?
"we must never be mean to stupid people, they might go away. Then who would we laugh at?"

It pisses me off and I tend to get nasty. Maybe that is what they are trying to get me to do.

I call it real life trolling when people play dumb.

My ex may have played dumb just for excuses. He claimed he didn't remember his 7 days of the weeks and his 12 months in order but yet he knew all of them but didn't know what order. He also claimed to have a problems with his memory.

I agree with everything happy bunny.

I do not get along with anyone significantly less intelligent than myself. I have dated probably 10 girls with IQs over 130, because it's all I can stand. My current girlfriend tested 82 online, on a test that I believe is fairly accurate because it gave me the exact same score the doctors gave me. Needless to say I get frustrated with her all time over the stupidest s**t. I was getting help from her playing Final Fantasy 12 the other day. I asked her to get me the map after she had already told me that there was no way to get one in-game and she asked "which one?" and I was like "WHAT DO YOU ****ING THINK?". I know I've got anger issues but hey I guess I'm thankful someone understands that enough to disprove that I can't live with anyone who isn't in the top 1%.

Yes, people pretend to suck at things to get out of them. I can think of several examples involving Final Fantasy and my girlfriend

The only time I have this problem is at work. I explain it different ways until they get tired of listening. If they insist they don't get it, I tell them they are too dumb to understand and to go find someone else for me to teach. I am not nasty about it, and I apologize for insulting them. I explain that I have to talk bad about them to their face, because I have to tell their boss in private. I rarely call the dumb in a group, but it has been known to happen. My boss and coworkers are always telling me to play nice, but I can't help it.

I am terrible at following directions, so I don't feel at liberty to judge others for doing the same.

No, I get frustrated with people who think I am dumb because I can't do a "simple thing" because it's either not "simple" to me or they are not explaining it in a way I can understand.

There are more bad teachers than bad students because most students know they must strive for perfection while most teachers think they have achieved it.

In the past, yes. However the way I see it now, different people have different problems. The only thing I DO have a problem with is intelligent people acting dumb.

Like when a perfectly smart woman pretends that she isn"t smart to attract men.

or when a smart man pretends to be not smart so he doesn't alienate people that are not smart.

I tell them at about the third time that they need to write it down. I'll gladly go slowly for them but if they expect the same info yet again, they need to grab a pen.

Constantly. Someone will ask me to help them with something, lets say how to do something on the computer. I first try to tell them what to do while I have them do it themselves, and they don't get it.
I then try to explain it in easier basic terms. Sometimes they catch on, sometimes not. But, I'm then accused of "talking down to them." WTH?!

I don't condemn people, for having the same problems, that I do.
