Anyone who knows about meditation, could you tell me a few ways to help myself?
For a fair while now I have been experiencing things beyond my coping abilities, and I think in general I cope rather well - I am emotionally rather strong, but hyper emotional all the same. I am too stressed half the time and sometimes it is out of my zone of coping.
I was rather happy once... when I was meditating and exploring the area of spirituality, and trying to learn how to love and to appreciate the world around me - that was a temporary happy phase.

Nowadays, I find myself emotionally beaten up, phoning my ex girlfriend too much at night, or talking to her online just to argue, I have no friends I see in real life whatsoever, the friends I have are all online, and I feel as though my ex wasted two years of my already rather stressful life.
I am persisting like some flea being constantly battered with resistence and perseverence to try to get back with my ex girlfriend but by doing this I am tormenting myself to extremes.
When I get THIS stressed, the very worst Aspie traits come out, and the very worst OCD traits hurt me.

I spend my days fretting about past events, not doing nearly enough in the way of music, going to bed at horrible hours, being de-motivated, having scary thoughts in the form of OCD, not having a social life, and not building on my talents or satisfying my good abilities.
I spend too much time not loving people enough, and I find it very difficult to be passionate about anything any more.

I want some motivation to keep meditating - I haven't done so for a while.
And I want some interesting pointers in how to meditate - a few different ways to do so.

Thank you.

There are many meditation CDs on the market, that use guided imagery.

Ive done roughly about 14 years of martial arts. I am also an artist.

There a few ways I meditate.
the first is by creating alternate realities in my head. plain and simple

the others are sitting in full lotus, one palm on top of another, shutting my eyes and breathing circulation through my system. then I imagine a sea with a seagull resting on it. then I lose the sea, and just the seagull remains. then I lose the seagull.

meditation in life isnt always the whole view of just resting and contemplating. Meditation is to relax you. to make you feel at ease. comfort you.

if you want an honest opinion, just forget meditation cds and the whole fung shui stuff. Be honest with yourself and your humanity.
Play some games, go out on spontaneous unplanned adventures. Masturbate. anything to relieve tension.

I draw. a lot.

seriously. relaxing is the best way. everything else can come later.

appreciate little things. like a man in a wheelchair with his wife walking alongside him.

Humans are both firghtful, and the most beautiful. draw inspiration from their spirit. love all aspect of it. the hate, the love, and all else.

because 42 is just too simple

The thing that helped me the most in beating anxiety and generally gaining a bit more objective approach at myself and others is zen meditation or zazen. It helps to stay more in the present moment, not be so much at the mercy of external and internal stimuli, become more detached and present in the "now".

Instructions - HERE

Just sit in (any) comfortable position and start with counting breaths - then after a while you can abandon it and focus simply on observing thoughts and their accompanying emotions, see their unreality and impermanence.

Hope you find the one that suits you - wishing all the best. :)
