As of Tuesday night this week I no longer have the cleaning job at the local gym I did previously because the gum has decided to contract out the cleaning to an Indian family company. On my last night (Tuesday) I told a colleague M. that a friend and I were going to go for a swim after work technically this is against the rules. However there was a mix up with locking the doors and we couldn't go afterall. M. suggested my friend and I came back the next night when my other colleagues T and C were on she said she thought it would be ok by T. (the more senior partner) so we did go back on Weds night. We had a swim and a spa for a while however after about half an hr T. came into the pool area (previously he was cleaning another part of the building) and ordered us out he was screaming and swearing and being very aggressive. He has previously told me he had an anger problem but I had never seen it. I was shocked and shaken especially as all we were doing was swimming I accept that we shouldn't have been there but we were doing no harm just swimming it wasn't like we were smashing the place up or stealing things. I also didn't understand his reaction because we are all finishing as of tonight so why did he care?

A theory: Because you were at some place where you shouldn't be after working hours, and that the working hours were effectively finished permanently since you got laid off.

"She thought it would be ok" is stupid, ALWAYS ASK, you are more likely to get a thing approved by asking BEFORE you do something, it leaves the one being asked in control. Doing something without a persons consent AFTER removes that sense of control from the person and they are more likely to say no - AND get angry.

If this guy has an anger problem anyway it is possible it was exacerbated by his now being out of a job.

Yeah thats my theory as well I was shocked though coz he had told me of his problem I had never other than in a very minor way seen it.
