You PM message someone or even e-mail them , and they never reply back? I can understand if the conversation has gone on a little while, and one suddenly stops the conversation. But the very first message and no reply? I'm beginning to wonder why that is. Is it because my real name can be seen with my e - mail or is it because this person just suddenly wants nothing to do with me?

My mind starts conjuring up all weird and somewhat paranoid reasons for this type of behaviour. I guess if they didn't want to interact with me, why give me your e - mail in the first place?

I just feel disappointed at folks who I thought were my friends, and they just leave me in the dark this way...

How much time are you giving? Some people want to think about what they want to say for a few days before they reply.

Have they read your PM yet? Check your outbox to see if it's been read by them yet. If it has been read it should be in your sentbox.
Try not to think the worst, maybe they got too caught up with other things to reply.

I'm sorry it has happened to you - but it could either be a glitch, and they haven't received it for some reason, are being busy, or they are simply not your friends. :hugs:

Are you sure you have an e-mail that is compatible with the inbox of the people you were e-mailing? I had problems with people who were using gmail for instance - they didn't receive it, also there was one incident when I was labelled as "spam".

Well it's been over a week. Maybe it's just a feeling. For one case it's been months and so I decided not to initiate any contact since I may just be put to one side again.

Yes they have read it. I'm just not sure if they haven't found the time to reply, but I guess if you found the time to read a message, a short reply of which would only take a few minutes would just seem logical to me. *shrugs*

Yes I do kinda hope there's a reasonable explanation for what happened. I guess it's just my way to start thinking all negative.

Yes I suppose it could be possible. the e mail has been shown on my "sent mail" section, so I suppose it has been sent. This user however is not on Gmail, so it could be a glitch.

But thanks all of you for the replies. Otherwise I would have started a "Don't you hate it when people don't reply to your thread" thread.

Yes I hate it when that happens. I just wonder if they don't like me or something. Same as when people are chatting with me and then they just stop. There was only one person who told me to stop sending him PMs because I was "getting annoying" and I was hurt but at least he was honest. I don't ever bother sending him PMs again unless he decides to PM me. Two other people told me I ask too many questions and that it can get frustrating. Maybe that's why that user told me to stop sending him PMs.

Then I have friends who don't respond and I don't know why they do that. They can't possibly dislike me or maybe they decided to not like me. I have one friend who hardly responds to my PMs but she claims she is too busy. So I don't even think it's worth sending her anything when I have anything to discuss about if I am going to be ignored.

If a PM is the only contact you've ever had, they don't owe you a response.

Someone can send me a PM ten pages long, but if they don't ask a specific question, and I don't have any particular comment on what they've said, I don't feel socially obligated to respond. Its the Internet equivalent of junk mail. I don't have to validate everyone who has a rant to get off their chest.
