The Ol' Blighty actually likes people with Asperger Syndrome?!
Never would have guessed, although that might explain why my native Australia, where I was born and nominally bred, seems to hate people like us with a passion, or at least disdains us - we Australians usually also hate the United Kingdom with a passion (especially my mother, who ironically is half-English technically speaking as her own mother is descended from English stock the only Australian I know who doesn't seem to inherently despise Britain or at least feign that is a female friend who had a relatively happy time of her childhood there, but though she was half-Norwegian, her father was technically a British subject, even if she was born in New South Wales, so even if she views herself Australian, technically she might not count - as for myself, however, I am neutral and wish to reserve judgment either way).
LabPet, if I had have known anything about the United Kingdom being tolerant for people with Asperger Syndrome, I'd probably have nagged my father to send me there on that basis years ago! Having said that, I am hopefully going to get my Australian passport renewed soon...
Too bad I'm an Australian, and thus would be deemed an "inferior colonial" by the English at least - never mind that I actually feel closer in some way to Britain than Australia, if only I have had better dealings with some of them and their immediate descendants than my own people, and even if only the others of my kin, at least here in Gippsland by and large, tend to come across to me as obnoxious.
Never mind that the Australian dollar does NOT convert to British pound sterling very well AT ALL...
*limps away clutching his pants' left cheek where the hip pocket nerve is screaming in agony at the thought of going to the UK*
The euro tends to be kinder to Aussies than the British pound sterling though (if only just, considering stuff can be very expensive for the average Aussie in the EU as well - if you wonder why most Australians usually tend to stick to either South-East Asia, Indonesia in particular, in any overseas travelling, there's your answer). Being a fourth-generation Australian royally sucks, especially in trying to go to Europe for any length of time instead of the USA (yuck!) or Asia. Even though you look at least a bit like the locals you have less chance of getting in than a North African Muslim migrant on a leaky boat...
Ehm...sorry, got carried away. Good luck with the UK, LabPet. I'd join you, but my passport isn't ready, nor is my wallet for that matter...
