Crying for no rational reason. Lapses of internal moral systems. Sensitivity to touch. Unnecessary cursing. All started when I noticed some holes in the plot of my unfinished book. Dad's being his typical clown self. Irritating. Can hardly type a concise post.

Not an unexpected reaction.
You just discovered you have mistakes in a work you'd previously thought to be a rousing success. It still can be, i'm sure, but you are experiencing a breakdown of your defenses.

Why?
- Because you're disappointed. In the book, and in yourself.
- Because (especially with ASD) defenses against the little irritating things of the world (sensitivities) take ALOT of energy and a little bit of (often unrecognized) concentration. Your disappointment is draining those resources at the moment. Or rather those resources are being used to fight off your disappointment.

Not an unexpected condition.
Just ignore your dad. He's probably trying to 'get you to join him in his joviality'. it's clumsy and typical behaviour from some personality types. And it sounds like, in this respect, you are alot like me in your response to it -

"F% off dad, and leave me alone. You aren't doinng anything helpful."

In my opinion, there's your problem.

I have poured over some of my unfinished work in the past and made slight adjustments, but further reading lessened the impact of my own work and I suddenly began to doubt it's validity, and that point stuck with me...

Therefore, rather than continuously going back to already written sections, continue writing until you're finished, then begin editing and correcting the pieces. That way, if you're ever discouraged you can look back and think "Well, I've finished this, all I'm doing is making necessary changes."
