I've found a new way to grieve.

And it doesn't involve Tears.

On the 9th of every month, I'm going to take a break from my usual activities for about three hours, and I'm going to burn a red candle, until it's burned down to the bottom. That will take place, at 5 AM when I've originally read about the Heart-Crushing news about The Death of the London Routemaster, in my local paper. I predict that it will take three and a half hours for those candles to burn. I'll be reading a book, as I keep glancing at the red candle. If anybody asks about this, I'll just tell them that the 9th of every month is going to be, "Red Candle Day", and that I've decided to keep the Christmas Spirit alive, all through the year.

Tony Attwood's sister in law Penny was obsessed with deltic diesel trains, and was very upset when she found out that they were being decommissioned.

She also found out that she wasn't the only one who was upset, and typical British - formed a Deltic preservation society. http://www.thedps.co.uk/

I think there is also the same for the Routemasters. People (and bus companies) are buying them and restoring them like vintage cars.

I don't think they will ever die now.

So, that means we'll have a new song to sing to you, and it goes like this.

"Happy figurative birthday to you!
Happy figurative birthday to you!
Happy figurative birthday dear (you know who you are)
Happy figurative birthday to you!

And on these unusual days when you blow out the red candle, for your wish you will get a Routemaster of your very own, something you have always wanted.

Sorry, I did my impersonation of Bruce Forsyth there for a second. His goal has been to give away prizes and make people happy. If his version of The Price is Right were still on today, I bet he would make you happy too.

I wouldn't recommend that. That sounds like you're just covering up your feeling or ignoring them. Grieving is natural and theres nothing wrong with it, let it out.
