Massive Meltdown, over computer
I simply cannot believe what happened tonight, I blew up.
My relationship with my sister has simply gone to hell. As a matter of fact, not just with me, but with the whole family. So my sister decides to come in to the room tonight, asking if she can use my computer to check her myspace (as she has for the last 3-4 years). I sigh, stand up, and walk out of the room with my head down. She comes out about 10 seconds later, saying "you know what, I won't check my Myspace then." I tell her it is okay, that I just sighed a little bit. She continues to get mad and tells me "no, if you are going to be that, I just won't use [your computer]. When I go to the utility room to take some clean towels to the room, she gets mad and says that she is getting tired of "me and my dad" to my other sister.
At this point, the family was getting ready to leave to go see a house and probably go get some ice cream. As soon as the door to the garage shut (or about 5 seconds later), I simply lost it. I walked into the kitchen and shouted "I just can't wait to get out of this f----ing house, and away from this family" so loud that my dad came back into the house with a glazed-eyed look, saying "what the h--l is amatter with you." I simply told him "I don't want to talk about it." About 1 second later my sister comes in say "I guess I won't go if he is going to act like a child." I guess she relented and walked back in.
I am getting tired of being exploited like this. She doesn't even seem to care about me at all. It is pretty much the first thing that is asked of me in the morning, and the last thing at night. There have even been times where I have come home tired from college and the words "can I use your computer" are the first words out of her mouth when I walk in the door. I am also fed up with the way she treats my computer, installing music download programs, like I-Tunes and Blubster on my computer without my permission.
She treats me like crap, and seems to look down on me for the fact that I am a nerd and socially awkward.
I am just sitting here in complete shock. I just can't believe I lost my cool and became so angry. I am worried how the family is going to be when I get back.
That sounds like a familiar situation... I hope their imminent return does not bring more instability into your day.

Ooh no, every fool knows that installing programs on someone else's computer without asking is a big, fat faux pas, surely? If not, you need to seriously educate your family on computer etiquette.

Maybe the gravity of the situation does not translate well through text, however that really doesn't seem like a massive meltdown to me.
However, it does sound to me like you have been sick of your sister using your computer for quite some time and kept telling her it was ok to use it when it wasn't.
Perhaps you should talk to her or your parents about getting her own computer. They make very cheap laptops today.
On another note, I know what it's like to be without a computer and I think it's nice of you to let her check her mail when she needs to. I don't think it's unreasonable. You can ask her not to download music and such though. Or at least, have her download it to a flash drive.

You should tell her to get her own computer, so that way, she can do anything that she wants, with it. I also think that it's rude, that your sister is downloading her music, on your computer. My sister downloaded some racy song on my computer, before I've moved out, and I got rid of them, all.

The Family Enigma
Well, here I am two days later, and here is how the situation panned out.
They came home that night relatively quiet, with no real incidents occuring that night. My dad and older sister were nice when they came home. I took a walk, and my dad told me not to go off like that, because people in the neighborhood will think I am crazy.
Then came last night.
My family was getting ready to go to the grocery store. I went out to the family room last night to go get something (I don't remember what). As I was walking by my other sisters room, I overheard a conversation between my little sister and my other sister. The little sister was telling her that she was worried about me introducing her child (she is pregnant and about to deliver) to anime. She told my sister that I don't wash very much and that my interest in anime and Pokemon is "childish." She said that she thought I was going to introduce her child to anime and turn him quote on quote "into a smelly nerd." Furthermore she stated that I am 22 years old, that I've never had a girlfriend, nor a job (I am going to college right now).
I walked back into my room and closed the door, shaking. I then proceeded to tear down the anime posters in my room. I then walked out to the garage, crying. A few minutes later, the other sister walked out and comforted me, telling me that "this fight can't go on any longer.
Since me and my dad share a bedroom, he immediately noticed the posters missing. He asked me why, and I told him that "I didn't want to corrupt [her child]." He told me he wanted me to put the posters back up. I decided to disobey him on that.
About noon today, he walked back in and saw the posters still not there. I told him flatly that I would not put up the posters and he got mad. He told me he wanted the posters back up or he was going to put them up himself. At one point, I got so mad that told him I was going to "move out," he told me to "just go." Nonetheless, I agreed to put up the posters once again.
He walked back out to the family room, and shortly thereafter, my sister walked out and he had a long talk with her. He came back into the room a little while later (as he was getting ready to pick my sister up from work) and told me that my sister said she was never going to use my computer ever again (as she was a bit scared of me after my blowup). H also said that I made a snap judgement regarding the posters and that he wanted to see them put back up by the time he went home.
Really at this point, I do want to move out. I am quickly losing my sanity and ability to handle these kind of situations with my family rationally.
It sounds like your dad is backing you up with the posters thing. They're your posters, indicative of one of your hobbies, and he doesn't want you to get rid of them based upon your sister's immature comments. She doesn't sound like she's remotely mature enough to become a mother. You should be true to yourself and your hobbies, and not let what people think of them affect you.

Thank the gods I never had any younger siblings...sounds like it turned out all right.
One of the coping tricks I use when something goes wrong is to simply think to myself 'it could be worse', because even a bust-up with a bratty younger sister over a computer is idyillic compared to the horrible things that can happen to people all over the world every day. It can be hard, but at least say to yourself 'Well, this sucks...but my dad is a cool understanding fellow and we have a roof over our head, three square a day, and the like, and my sister is just being immature and she'll grow out of messing with my stuff, and we are a family when all is said and done'
do you play video games? fps and fighting games can be really theraputic on days like the one you had with your sister.

i'm very sorry to hear of this badnessness.
your father definately supports you on the poster issue, wanting you to not compromise yourself for your sisters immaturity.
the younger sister barely sounds mature enough to get a job in a store, let alone have a child. (not to be offensive, it's just true)
You are completely in the right here, everything she's done sounds completely innapropriate.
grrrr, if someone was to install programs on my computer without my permission i would delete them. and i'm not talking about the software (well i would but the human as well)
