...well, no, i'm not depressed, but i am at the same time. I'm just completley devoid of emotion. Is this normal?
There's no reason for me to be depressed, but no reason to be happy either. I have a few good friends, but i don't really want to bring them down by talking to them about it.
Outwardly i seem quite happy, but as soon as i'm away from anyone who would care, i just revert to being completley neutral to the world. Does anyone else on here experience this? i hope i'm not alone. :(

Oh boy. That sounds very familiar to what I've been experiencing. Of course, I can't tell you for sure. In my case it was (and still is) due to stress.
Believe me, and I know it's not easy(!), if you have something you really need to tell, and you know you need to tell it, yet you don't do it because it require a lot of effort, (I hope you understand that one! 8O ), Then please... For your own best, let it out.
I'm still working on things from my own life, and it's hard. I won't lie to you, for me it breaks me to tears when telling.

If it sounds familiar, my best advice would be to start telling a close friend or family. Someone you can really trust. Then work on it from there... It probably needs to go further.

I think I you feel much the same way as I do, KillerBunny123. For me it's as if my emotions were put away behind a thick pane of glass. I can see them, but I cannot really reach out and feel them. On my bad days, the pane of glass gets foggy and I lose even what little contact I usually have with my emotions.

I read about something called cognitive behavioral therapy though. The main idea seems to be to help people understand their own emotions better and to help them to get back in touch with them. I asked a friend of mine who is at the moment finishing her psychology studies about this and I described to her how I feel inside and she said it sounded like a good idea to her. She has attended lectures on the different forms of therapy that can be administered to help with various conditions and cognitive behavioral therapy was among those. So I reckon she has a better basis of judgement than me in this case.

Anyway, as cognitive behavioral therapy was recommended to me by both a book and my friend, I will find myself a therapist who offers this kind of help to people. Maybe you could read up on it a bit yourself and see whether it sounds helpful in your case as well. :)

Stress sounds about right. Another thing (that noone around me seems to have picked up) seems to be i lack motivation. I also care more about things going right now, rather than later. So the future is a bit of a disapointment.

My guess would be that this lack of motivation is due to your feeling of being neutral to the world, which in turn might be because of stress.
I for sure know that if you're feeling bad, motivation gets affected pretty fast, and then you get into that nasty circle!

I hope the best for you, as I think I know how you feel.
Good luck

The only thing i'm really motivated in is music, but i'm never going to get anywhere with it, no matter how much i practice i still dont get better, which just makes it worse.

it's really quite a stupid thing considering everything else

You should be happy that you have at least a few friends at 14. I practically had none. School for me in Grade 9 was just a sea of bullying and teasing... but I still managed somehow.
