f*****g meds! i went crazy back in 2004- 2005. i literally lost my mind. and i just found out the medicine i was on back then can cause that . I only got better when i got off all of my meds in 2006. of the many medicines i was taking anafranil was on of them. and i looked it up and i does rarely cause schizophrenia in some people.

WHY DIDN'T THE DOCTORS SEE THAT IT WAS A MEDICATION SIDE EFFECT! WHY DID I HAVE TO SUFFER FOR 2 YEARS BEFORE FIXING THE PROBLEM MYSELF BY GETTING OFF ALL OF MY MEDICINE!! !

I AM f****n PISSED!

Why do doctors never check any other causes( like medication side effects) before assuming your psychotic! this makes me so mad!

I could have been taken off this med and i would have returned to normal but instead i went crazy for over 2 years! and trust me i was really stark raving mad! i heard voices saw things and all that s**t!

ohh this makes me so mad that the psychiatrists didn't do there jobs right! that's why i pay them! to monitor my medication treatment!

I am back on meds now but i will be more wary of possible side effects!

honey i know in how you feel Geodon nearly killed me and caused me to have schizophernia and now i have been off of it for over a year I still have brain damage from the medicine which is more like a drug as bad as crack or heroin, geodon scarred me for life but it may can hurt my physical brain and body but it can never take away the light of goodness and love within my soul. be strong have faith and know that you are loved.

I won't take SSRIs or ANY antipsychotic. Period. I feel their risks outweigh any potential benefit. I'm on Adderall and for almost 3 years, I've haven't have any issues warranting a doctor's visit.

That sucks :(

I think people are just stuffed upto their necks with pills its so bad.

I didn't have those side effects, but was put on a pill called risiredol when I was 14 which I didn't need and it made me gain about 30kgs.

I hate pharmacuiticuls and will always choose natural if I can.

I am sorry for what you went through.

Risperdal/Zyprexa/Seroquel/Geodon/Abilify are known to cause weight gain and it can make some people become diabetic since they also somehow affect the body's ability to regulate blood sugar.

I think psychotropics can be helpful but sometimes they cause more issues than the problems they try to alleviate.

Yes, all atypical antipsychotics are like that, but stuff like Geodon and Risperdal--awful

My mom's a psychiatric nurse, She has stories of people being screwed up by these meds.

I've never taken anything otherthan SSRIs. I had very bad reactions to the SSRIs. I took Zoloft until I started having rage issues and combative behavior problems. Then I tried Paxil, and was suicidal within a week of started it. Haven't tried any psychiatric drug since.

I took Risperdal for about a month to help me sleep and keep my ptsd flashbacks at bay but it made me start lactating. i think that is a very weird side effect, again it is a rare one but i seem to always get the rare ones for some reason.
