Normally, I'm not one to get down on myself or look for sympathy from others, but every now and then, I realize just how disadvantaged I am, physically, in a social sense, in addition to having AS. It's not like I'm confined to a wheelchair; far from it- I'm actually very capable and physically healthy. But I did get the short end of the stick when it comes to physical appearance, I feel. For reference, I'm a 20 (soon to be 21) year old guy.

1. I'm all of 5' 4" and about as tall as I'm ever going to get.
2. I weigh all of 104 lbs.
3. I have lazy eye (glasses don't correct it or the next thing).
4. I have low vision (I can't drive).
5. I have permanently audible breathing.
6. I have massive scars (not the flattering kind) from invasive surgeries.

I mean, come on- what girl is going to go for a guy who's shorter than most women (that I've ever met), can't drive, sounds like he has perpetual asthma, and, on top of that, has AS?

So you're not the guy in your photo then?

Post a photo. We will tell you how to improve your appearance.

with all due respect, there are people who would quite like to be in your situation- IOW it could be much much much worse.

My avatar is in fact a photo of me. It's just that on closer examination, I don't quite look like that.

Also, here's a video I posted a few weeks ago, where you can hear my breathing prettyclearly in some places, and also tell I have a lazy eye (my left one). The fact that my hair is long enough to have put it in a ponytail for the video is notwithstanding.

That spirit will serve you well. I used to work for a guy who was about your height and kind of chubby. He was married to a gorgeous blonde who was about 4 inches taller than him and they had a wonderful family. Now that I think of it, this guy gave me a job in spite of the fact that he mentioned he thought it was odd that during the entire job interview I never made eye contact!

We never know what the future holds, anything is possible. Stay positive, believe in yourself, and just keep pushing. I hope this new year will bring good things your way.

you appear to me, to be very fine. your breathing did not strike me as disturbing. a lot of consumer microphones seem to accentuate the sound of breathing because 1] they have a "presense bump" designed into their frequency response so as to augment intelligibility of the voice being recorded, and 2] the acoustics of your recording venue appears to have bare walls which also acts to accentuate the trebly sounds of breathing.
your lazy eye wasn't obvious to anybody who was paying attention to the totality of your presentation, which was well-done, btw. you have good clear-thinking brain power that will take you places.
you are harder on yourself than i would be on myself if i had your talents. pay less mind to physical things, and love yourself more, por favor :)

If a fat ugly bastard like me can get hit on then you should have no problem. Get a job at a resteraunt that has over 20 employees I will bet someone there will want to go out with you. Plenty of single moms looking for a nice guy to help raise their kids. Good luck and happy new year!

You have nothing to worry about. I watched the video. You are very attractive and charismatic! There are a lot of girls who would definitely be willing to be yours. It is a matter of confidence really. Show girls that you are confident in who you are and you will see some results. Also, be aware of the good girls and the bad girls. The girls that put you down are basically useless to your goals, so ignore them, there will be the good girls that you will notice who are attracted as well to your brilliant mind.

dude your fine, no homo you know what i mean. like the poster before me said its all about confidence. When I fake confidence or am buzzed I magically attract some girls, whereas when im just regular me and give no effort I am totally ignored...and im not a great lookin guy either. Im 5'8 180lbs, overweight, unconfident and awkward you can totally improve

If others judge you on your appearance, then they are very shallow-minded.

If you learn to love yourself and accept it, no thought or opinion shall hurt you.
