Well, the topic pretty much says it all. I want to know what techniques there are out there that can help your brain work faster. Like being able to think of what to say in conversations instead of standing there like a dumbass & kicking yourself later when you finally think of something clever to say 5min later. Please help.

I didnt have time to go seearching through the forums but if this topic is in here already [and it has some useful suggestions], just post the link instead.

I don't have a link for you.

Learning some quotes by heart helps, at least a little bit.

5 minutes later is a bit sooner and better, than 5 DAYS later! anyways, it has been said that consistent daily aerobic exercise [for at least an hour] clears the cobwebs and enables a person to function cerebrally in a consistently more efficient manner. i found that to be true in my case, at least.

I think my meditation practice helps a lot, but I can't really offer any concrete evidence.

This used to get on my nerves like crazy. One thing you wanna do in social situations is keep it simple. Since it's unpredictable and spontaneous, you wanna have clear answers rather than clutter your brain with all the possibilities. This works out real well for me since it's a very efficient way of thinking.

believe good *rgasms make me smarter, due to reduction of cortisol [ a stress hormone which eats away at the myelin sheath protecting neurons]. i notice that after i have one and fall into the resultant good deep sleep, i awaken better able to think- i notice this when i do crossword puzzles, i am much better at completing them at these times. just my jejune opinion.

We talking comebacks or the ability to engage in smalltalk?

caffeine and nicotine have been proven to boost CPU speed, as well as augment working memory and cognitive flexibility, all part of adroitness in social situations. don't smoke to get the nicotine, however- try a patch or nicorette gum at critical moments and see what happens. try the caffeine first, however, as the nicotine can be pretty addictive. just a jejune thought.

Both. Basically to be able to quickly think of something to say in any social situation instead of going blank

I was just asking for helpful search terms. You dont have to be an ass about it.
