Defriend him. There's enough ass holes in the world without letting him stink up your life.

What the hell does this have to do with how we women with AS are treated? Why do you immediately think "Someone was an as*hole to me. Must be because I'm a guy and not a chick"?

Yeah, we women have is so much easier. Given the national average of wage gaps in this country, if you were a women, you'd be likely making between 9.75 to 10.50 an hour for the same work, regardless of whether you had AS or not. Count your blessings.

Does society treat women with AS better?

No.

Feel better?

So, what does this have to do with female Aspies? If you think your uncle wouldn't say that to you if you were a girl...think again. I've seen that before.

As for the wage gap, that has a lot more to do with promotions (and the types of jobs) then it does with starting wage gaps. Women don't get promoted because they are women, and most people in the workplace prefer to work for a man. Even most women prefer that. (Look it up if you don't believe me. It's more of a generational thing I suppose) Besides, men are more aggressive, and those are the kinds of people that get promoted...the as*holes. So the fact that women don't get promoted as much is possibly a good reflection of women's general nature. Every place I've worked, the women make the same as the men (position by position anyway) but at this pizza place, all the girls work in the front...hmmmmm, coincedence? Waitresses get paid less. They make more, but they get paid less. (tips don't come from an employer)

Yes.

It really had nothing to do with females and aspergers. I just wanted to make sure females aren't getting any sort of special treatment due to being a women.

Um, of course women get special treatment. If by "special treatment" you mean "Are women treated differently than men are" then yes, OF COURSE! Women are treated differently than men, whether it's the workplace, or in relationships, or the justice system, or whatever, they are treated differently. Whether they are treated better or not...it depends on the situation.

Again, as others have posted, this has nothing to do with you being a guy.

But seriously, a doctor wrote that on your facebook wall?? What an idiot. All his friends and colleagues will see his comment too.

I think there may be a slight tendency to see a woman who doesn't have a good job, or any job, as less of a loser than a man in the same situation. (And I don't mean a woman who stays home to raise the children, as she does have a job, and an important one.)

It depends on her level of attractiveness. A gorgeous Aspie woman will be treated better, I think. An ugly Aspie female will be treated much worse than an ugly Aspie male.

As far as I can tell, I'm treated somewhat better than males, though not by much. As a youngster, I suffered mostly relational aggression and sexual harassment in high school rather than physical bullying, and because of my social detachment I wasn't all that traumatized by this--I didn't really care what others thought of me.

Females are not required to be as assertive as males, and it seems to me that introverted females have it easier than introverted males because of this cultural expectation. But not all autistics are introverted.

Wow ApsieGuy, why are so many people mean to you?
I think it is equal. Women can be vicious to other women, but I think there are some guys who can be jerks to other guys. In this case I think your uncle is a jerk. There are lots of girls who have jerks as family members. The best advice is defriend your uncle. Life is hard enough, there's no need to surround yourself with people who make it harder and bring you down.

I think Kon summed it up nicely.

These endless "women have it easy" posts are becoming very tiresome.
