I am so sad right now. Is anyone out there? Can anyone hear me? I will just tell you all about me and what is going on with me.

I am 20 years old and am living with my parents, my 8 year old brother and my 5 year old sister who does not have any disorder that we are aware of (she seems perfectly normal). I hate living here, but I don't have a job, thus I can't do anything with my life. I hate money because people just use it for control, and it's a necessary evil you can't live without. It has ruined EVERYTHING. My fiancee who is from South Asia is the most wonderful gift I could've asked for, but we cannot be together due to money problems. Can anyone tell me which city in the US would be the best place for us to live? We need a city that has good public transportation and that is close to an international airport and a university that has science and medical majors. If someone can give me suggestions, I would be greatful.

I have contacted a service that helps people with disabilities become independent, but EVERYTHING is going so SLOW. I want change NOW.

I have AS, so I hope people on here won't criticize me. I'm pouring out my heart to strangers. I will be very sad if no one responds to this thread.

I feel kind of simular. 21 and have no fiancee, but yeah I could not find a job and would not be able to function at one so I decided to re-enroll in college and have plans to get an apartment with my sister and cousin. Have you thought about possibly trying to get into college and getting financial aid? But yeah services to help people with disabilites get on their own are definatly a good idea, I have not had much luck finding anything like that....if you have that is a good step in the right direction. I guess I would say try not to stress about it too much and be patient.....its easier said then done I know. But stressing too much about things taking a while to get going can make things like depression and anxiety much worse.

What about the states on the East Coast? I can't picture me living in the south or the west.

Thanks for responding. I wasn't sure if anyone would listen...

I would Suggest Atlanta, Georgia because it meets all of the criteria. If you are looking for anything into studying anything medical, I would say try Emory University in Downtown Atlanta. Be careful though, there are a surplus of idiots in the area.

I don't know what I would go to college for. I'm interested mostly and theater, but that wouldn't make any money. I'm kinda interested in Psychology, but I don't want to be a counsIelor or a therapist.

I think that financial aid would be a great idea, but it would not pay for everything would it? I have absolutely no money.

I'm not trying to be mean at all. Sometimes, I don't know what my tone of voice is or if it sounds like I'm being mean, like sometimes I sound mad when I'm not.

It might not pay for everything, I am trying to get ssi income on top of that because it will be hard to live only on the college money. But it can be helpful depending on how much you get.....depending on what your looking for it may even be able to cover everything. But yeah you would have to look into it, and it may depend on the state. I live in Colorado so thats how it is here.

I would not worry about that, you should see some of my posts......quite depressing at times. But yeah I hear its kind of hard not to get denied multiple times, which kind of sucks because some people need that kind of help.

I heard that a man tried to get SSI, and he finally got it...a month before he died.

But I could be wrong... That's how I remember the story, anyway.

Atlanta, Georgia.

It' got decent public transit (at least between 5 AM and 1 AM); one of the world's biggest airports, and quite a few hubs of medicine and science. Emory University and Georgia Tech are among the institutions located here. It's fairly affordable as large cities go.

I have lived many places and with the requirements you listed, this would seem to be the best option.

Hello confusedwoman87,

I'm Byron & I want 2 say that you are not alone & I think there are some benefits 2 having Aspergers like having a higher than normal I.Q. & if you have trouble socializing, then you won't hang out with the people you don't want to hang out with. :)

I've always had the impression that the south is full of hicks... I'm not trying to offend anyone.

And where would be a good place for a bi-racial couple?
