here is why i feel unhappy today

i was measured offcially at the doctors at 5ft9 (175cm) today
my brother who is 6ft and half rubs in the fact that he is taller than me
my brother has been given all the good luck with genetics since he is taller and better looking than me and i have all the worst luck
my mother is 5ft2 and treats my brohter better than me because he is better looking and taller
my dad was 5ft10 or 5ft11
i walk on tip toes and i am treated as different becuase of my height insecurtieis
i am virtually the only person in my family that has AS

i don't know what to do i have such bad luck in my life

I don't think your mother favors your brother for that reason. She may favor him because he is easier to deal with. Your brother teasing you over height is a lame but normal sibling interaction. Don't walk on tip toes. Work on self-acceptance. You won't be taller. You won't be NT. You have to work with what you have and what you are. The less time you spend bringing yourself down and the more time you spend building on what you have, the better off you'll be.

5"9 is a good height.

5'9" is actually average for a guy! And consider this - if your mom is 5'2" and your dad was around 5'10", you got the taller end of the stick! It is a little rude for your brother to rub it in, but it doesn't mean you have bad luck.

If this comes off as rude, I apologize in advance, but I'm speaking from experience; sometimes aspies like us in NT families see things as favoritism and being treated differently, even when we really aren't.

Don't worry about your height: I'm pretty short too! I'm the shortest girl in my entire extended family, and I've been 5'4" since the 7th grade (I'm currently a sophomore in college)! ! My sister and mom are 5'8", and my dad is 5'10", so I really got the short end of the stick.

Oh dear! Jamesy! Have you by any chance seriously considered the possibility you have body dysmorphia? Height is one of those things that just from the number it can be gauged that you are fairly tall! Don't compare yourself to your brother! Don't compare yourself to anyone! And I agree with the other poster that your mother is probably not treating you differently because of your height/appearance.

You are of perfect height! I wish you were able to stop worrying about it and never think of it again cause it's a non-issue!

Its hard as well becuase my brother is saying i am as evil as hitler. i only do bad things becuase my quality of life is very bad and i can't get a girlfriend or have a lot of friends etc.......

Becuase of my attitude i have caused a lot of problems in my life.

I think ia m just depressed because i want a girlfriend and things like that in my life etc.....

Maybe the next steop i need to take is seeing a pyscologist or trying get an aspergers offcial diagnosis?

By the way I'm sorry your brother is treating you so badly (what he said about you being as evil as Hitler is absolutely ridiculous), and that you feel so bad in general right now. I hope you feel a lot better soon once you start seeing a psychologist and/or psychiatrist.

Its just me getting the balls to see a shrink to get an offcial diagnosis?

Just off topic for a moment but do you think though jeff has aspergers? he does show many symptoms.
