Currently confused

I am very socially naïve and unskilled, In my 23 years on this earth, I have not really socialized much even on line. It has been restricted to school and family, not having held down a job for more than a brief while has not contributed either. I have met other aspies IRL who have noticed I am more naive socially than they are, which is say something.

In the past I just avoided social situations I felt I could not handle and it has helped me stay out of serious trouble. However as I become more involved on line by joining wrongplanet (I am not dissing wrongplanet), I got myself involved in all sorts of embrassing incidents because I did not know any better. Even Offline lately I have been getting into incidents I would have avoided in the past and I have embrassed myself in front of other people, to me these incidents are no easy to forget and often still remember them like ashes in my mouth.

I've decided to go back to very cautious in my on line and offline dealings and being fairly guarded about my life as well. However I feel I go back to that kind of approach I am going to remain fairly naïve and socially unskilled for the rest of my life. Hence my life will be pretty limited, I could very well never be in a romantic relationship unless I meet an aspie woman who is as naïve and socially unskilled as me.

I'm not sure what the general consensus on this site is about this, but have you ever considered classes that teach you how to socialize? They do exist, and they might help you.

Just really annoying people with dumb questions which I would have not asked if I knew better and saying things I should have not.

I doubt anyone on here holds a grudge against you. Everyone here is weird, and everyone in the world has annoyed people at some point in their life. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
