My brother said to me "You are on the autistic spectrum things are going to be tough"

I don't really understand what he means by that????????? Its not like i am going to put in jail becasue i am on the spectrum so i don't get what he meant? Personally though i think it was an unfair and biased comment he made.

I think i may have aspergers but i might have semantic pragmantic disorder or HFA.

Most people you'll meet don't think like you do which can prove to be problematic in ways that you perhaps haven't encountered yet or more likely you have and you've made your own way around it possibly without even considering it a problem.

You're right, no one is going to throw you in jail and there is technically no accurate way of comparing the average 'toughness' of the life of some on the spectrum to someone not on the spectrum so the comment is a little unfair I suppose.

This means things are more difficult for you than they are for a neurotypical individual because the world is generally designed for neurotypical individuals.

This also means that you really have a problem with anything that your brother says. You're constantly complaining about him and most of what you quote him saying is not patronizing, demeaning, insulting or confusing. I think you're a tad jealous of him, which is normal for siblings, but you've got to become aware of it and handle it.
