My gambling addiction has gotten worse
I'm not surprised really if I was gonna get any addiction (Aside from my food spending) it was most likely in gambling. So I'm now near $100 left in my bank account and near $1300 in credit card debt. No employment. Who's gonna hire a medical coder who got an F in a mock interview in medical coding school?
Arent I awesome?
You are awesome! Not in an sarcastic way either. Gambling: is there any way you could shift your addiction to online gambling games that don't actually deal in money? As a first step.
Failing a mock interview bears no hold on your future job prospects. The whole point of a mock interview is to give you a chance to make mistakes and figure out what you're doing wrong before a real interview.
What kind of job might you want, either short-term or long-term? If I knew I might be able to think of a way you could get income to pay your debt.
Oh, I see, medical coding. Anything else you're interested in that could provide a side income? Teaching swimming? Lifeguarding? Babysitting? Yard work for people?

I was forced to attend that medical coding school against my own will. It wasn't something I wasn't all that interested in though the subject itself wasn't that difficult to learn. And believe me, I was really bad at the interview because of the questions being asked that I'll never be able to provide a proper answer. I'll never get past the questions consisting of why I want a particular job or what my life goal is since as of this point I have none. I don't see myself succeeding at any particular profession or even a part time job.
The only job I can do is one that doesn't require a massive life thesis as to why I want the job and where I want it to take me. In other words I really don't want a career. I wish it wasn't the case but with my brief experience in the workplace it's far too uncomfortable for me to manage. My parents think I'm full of s**t though.
Hmm. Understandable. Maybe you could just float from job to job depending on what catches your fancy. Best if you could be your own boss in that case. A few ideas I've had that might appeal to you: hand-drawing cards (for Mother's Day, etc.) and selling them at flea markets/ any stores that will retail them; dogwalking; buying/selling a certain kind of toy and setting up an eBay business around it (My Little Ponies and Popples (stuffed animals) come to mind, or vintage CareBears... well now I'm just listing stuff I'd want to do; I'm sure other stuff would appeal to you more specifically. If you're at all able to work around people maybe you could work in a homeless shelter signing people in and taking care of their needs (changing bedding, etc.); babysitting... hmm. What do you like to do for enjoyment? There must be a related job that's not a full-blown career.

Here's the thing about gambling, it is a business, and houses that engage in it have to have a pretty good chance at a consistent cash flow to stay in business, and thus, the odds are always in the house's favor. If most people didn't lose most of the time then there wouldn't be casinos, card houses, slot machines or state lottos.
You have something deep within your brain focusing on the exciting prospect that you MIGHT win, but weight that against the knowledge that you probably WILL lose because the odds are intentionally rigged against you.
Next time you find yourself about to make a bet that you shouldn't make, hold that money in your hand and stop to consider how you would feel if you lost it. Then take a breath, put it in your pocket, and turn around and walk out feeling relieved that you didn't. Or if you wish, pretend you lost it but the dealer was nice enough to give it back anyway and consider yourself lucky you still have it.
That being said, if you must gamble, there are better odds out there that are in your favor when you get back on your feet. These would be calculated business investments such as different finance markets and so on. You most certainly can lose your money this way but if you know what you are doing and are conservative in your investing and patient and in it for the long run, you can make a nice bit of money.

It's not casino gambling I'm doing. It's lottery gambling. I doubt I would even be let in through the doors of a casino since the way I dress makes people think I'm a teenager.
