I can't seem to tell my body to stop doing this. I hate myself for it.

Last night I drank more than half a bottle of whisky and five pints of beer.

You're a young lad and it's Saturday night. Give yourself a break.

Complicated by the fact that I'm extremely overweight and my parents spent £8k on a gastric band for me last year.

I had two servings of turkey dinner and I feel guilty about it.

I also used to go to house parties twice a year, at your age and I'd end up eating and drinking way too much. I have an idea what the guilt feels like.

Start an exercise regime? I like to go for long walks in nature reserves. Anything like that near your house? Or you could join a gym or take up swimming.

Swimming's really good exercise.

I do some exercise but probably not enough. Other problem is that, according to lots of the data I've read is that exercising doesn't actually help shift much weight.

I think it's a problem with self-loathing more than anything else. I'm a very untrusting person at the best of times.

Hi tequila, have you thought of counselling? I think you need someone professional you can talk to who hopefully you'll be able to trust enough to open up to and help you get to the bottom of what's going on. Have you got a helpful GP who can refer you?
I'm not around much these days and just spotted your post - seriously, and I know you like straight talk, you're body can only take so much punishment, and sometimes we all need a little help. Take care of yourself.
