So 3 of us were in a movie and later we sat somewhere and grabbed some drinks. Suddenly my friend, whom I've known since like 1st grade pulls out a pack of cigaretters and starts smoking, like really. So you ask me why is this so unusual? cause this friend is against alchohol, sex and violence, he is a pacifist (I think) he wouldn't harm a fly and definitely not himself. And when he said he's been smoking for 3 months and he's gona buy a smoke now (he's folks don't know anything about that) I thought he was joking around!! !

Most people here will say so what if he smokes but it really doesn't add up with how much I know him, since he has some aspie traits he doesn't look in the eye, pretty shy, not outgoing, and nobody every peer pressured him. Meaning he smoked because he wants to!

Sorry just needed to get this off my chest.

Did it ever happen to you? someone you know for years and suddenly its like you don't even know him/her.

How old is your friend? Teenage and young adult years are usually a time of intense experimentation, and people tend to change their minds about things all the time.

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

You changed your profile picture, Chummy! Anyway, I haven't had that experience although some may have had that feeling with me.

Maybe he got fed up with being 'perfect'. the ... I dont drink, smoke, gamble, etc etc.... and maybe he just wanted to rebel and thought of trying one of the things thats seen as unsociable nowadays, and maybe he is enjoying it. Afterall, its his life, his choice and his body, and he owns the copywright to it, so let him enjoy it.
