I never thought on a support site I would once again have someone tell me I don't have PTSD because they simply don't think I do........I really try not to let the internet get to me, and usually it does not. I guess I just don't expect people to be so harsh on a support site so it is rather shocking.

But yeah basically I only think I have PTSD, AS and anxiety issues because the only thing I was able to get offcially diagnosed was depression when I tried to kill myself at the age of 15...the only way to really have problems is to have already been officially diagnosed I guess.

Wow....maybe I am overreacting but the last thing I need right now is people trying to tell me I don't have any real issues or anything.....I realise it was a political debate but I don't see why things should ever get so personal someone litterally attacks someone for not having an official diagnoses.

Sorry if this is obnoxious or whatever but it really has me feeling kind of bad so a little support or just advice or something would really help...sorry for posting this.

Not obnoxious, Sweet; and no need to apologise.

Just please stay. Your input is valuable here. For example; this topic.

Well I won't leave I was just very angry...this site is actually quite helpful, as I have learned I am not alone in having some of those AS related social issues that caused a lot of issues for me as a child, and even now.

That sort of thing just tends to set me off, when my moms boyfriend told me 'you were not even in the room.'(meaning the room my classmate was shot in) when I told him to quit slamming things because it was making me anxious. I went off on him for about a half hour.

but yeah just not something I was all that prepared for on a support site...I mean I don't expect everyone to perfectly get along in the politics forum as it is politics after all, but telling someone they do not have issues they do is getting a bit to personal in my opinion.

I don't think PTSD is something you can tell whether people have or not over the internet... It's a complicated disorder that's connected to different aspects of others like anxiety and depression which makes it harder to work out clearly. I may not be WPs most active poster but I hope you're feeling better about yourself, because you're input on here is cool and always interesting to read when I am lurking around the place.

well I went from very angry to quite numb...so I do feel a bit better. I really had to vent and my friends mom is here so I did not want to go outside and punch and kick trees or whatever. but yeah I agree you cannot really tell over the internet.

IDK much about PTSD but I'm pretty sure you have to witness/experience something traumatic to have it. The few people I know who have PTSD are war vets :salut:. Also, you don't need an AS diagnosis to be here. You'd fit in under one of the more unique categories of NT's or those w/ other psychological issues (I'm pretty sure their is a Bipolar/Schizoid thread or something now too).

PPR can get pretty rough. Too rough sometimes. By all means take a break from it if you need to.

Sometimes people make things personal in there, instead of arguing the issue, which is a shame. In the one thread I saw you in recently over there, you weren't doing that, which I liked, even though I didn't agree with you.

Sounds like taking a short break would do you well.

Nobody can diagnose or undiagnose you over the internet.

And regardless of what you have, be it AS, PTSD, or whatever, you are welcome here.

Having an official diagnosis would not change who I am or resolve my issues. I know what my symptoms are and I am trying to address them as best as I can. I doubt if anybody here could make a diagnosis of anybody based on theeir posts.

I agree totally that some posts here become personal very quickly. I suppose this should be expected, taking into account that the majority of members have issues. Some subjects such as politics and religion are hot potatoes and some people will have very fixed views and may be easily upset. Whatever your views are, they are valid and do not deserve personal attack. Keep posting, your point of view is important and most people here will benefit from it, even if they disagree.
