Yesterday I had a shutdown at school. My professor told me its the first day of school and I am already being lazy. He told me "don't use your disability as a means to skip work". I didn't even tell him I wanted to skip work. I just told him I'll need an hour's break to feel myself again. He was nice to me and suddenly after I get diagnosed he's being a jerk to me. I feel helpless and hopeless.

You can't really do that stuff when you're older though, you'll have to find another way to deal with whatever's wrong.

whenver i would have shutdowns in school, here is what you do. First, take a deep breath, take dep breaths, then jus stare down at your desk, tune out everything in the classroom, and stare down at your desk, and bring yourself to a happier place and not the classroom, now only do this for a minute or so, if you absolutely have to. to help make yourself more relaxed. but i would jst reccomend bretahing deeply, and perhaps relaxing your body to feel more at ease, i also tend to feel extremly cold when im scared ands nervous, so i sometime carry a swetashirt with me in the fall during school to slip on, since i find the warmth naturally comforting.

I know. It was the first day so I was feeling overwhelmed. I had returned to the lab after a day of classes so I said I was going for a break. Anything negative now he says don't use your disability as means to avoid so and so.

Wow. That's harsh what your professor said. It doesn't sound like he thinks much of you if he's accusing you of being lazy. You can prove him wrong by doing outstanding work in his class and if he is still not convinced, make sure you rip him a new one when you do professor evaluations at the end of the semester.
