Given that life has no "pause" button, that deadlines must be met, and that ultimately if you don't eat, you die... what do you do when you find yourself psychologically unable to fulfill your duties, but failure to fulfill your duties means a permanent or semi-permanent degradation of your life goals, living conditions, and personal integrity?

What do you do when going on is not an option, but taking a breather is also not an option?

Can a psychiatrist put you on temporary disability?

No. I'm not disabled, I'm just lazy, worthless, and ultimately untrustworthy.

Putting me on disability would be a waste of resources.
