Does having aspergers cause a person to be considered a creep, just because of their difficulty in finding and forming friendships?

From my experience, definitely yes - and worse.

Among a lot of people, but not absolutely everybody.

The word creep is to subjective.

Define the word in great detail before you can expect me to answer.

My thinking of creep is some one who uses people for example a sociopath.

I guess you could define any non-NT a creep to. I remember my co-workers wife
had absolutely no sense of humor and could not stand me and confronted me.
Said I was putting down her family when I was just joking. Hell I loan her husband
the money to buy his car so I was not thinking down on them(I did not tell her that I had to much class). So I'm sure she might use the word creep.

Yeah people who are very NT and intolerant will find it easy to call anyone a name.

Oh I heard my coworker is filing for divorice.

From my NT point of view, no. However, there are a lot of people who are NT who believe anyone who "acts" out of the "social norm" is "weird" or maybe a "creep."

I find these types of people superficial, boring and extremely close-minded.

The most interesting and special people in my life are AS or some other difference from the norm.

I agree with the person above me.

Any sentence that says,

"People with Asperger's are ______."

or

"People with Asperger's can('t) ______.",

is already wrong before you fill in the blank. It is a spectrum, one size does not fit all.

In that vein, the same goes for:

"NTs are _______."

or

"NTs think ______."

or

"NTs can('t) ______."

Definitely "NO". Perhaps aspergers makes some people more prone to creepitude, but I think it depends on the individual rather than their psychological condition.

Do you think I'm a creep?

I personally think that anybody can be a creep, regardless of whether they're AS, or NT.

I'd rather be a creep than a NewT.
Guess that's why I always loved watching "The Addams Family" ! !!

NTs would call me a creep.

I don't think I'm a creep. Just because I can't socialise well doesn't mean I'm immediately labelled as one.

I have always sensed that I have been treated as though I were regarded as "creepy" or "strange" or "unapproachable" IRL. :(

People with autism are auties, and people with aspergers are aspies. And with that, I'll take the "Most obvious joke" award and be on my way.

I have seen male autistics and Asperger's being called creeps. The eye contact and space issues are used as evidence. Some of us don't make enough eye contact, some stare "right through people" and that's "just as bad" according to some.
