My signature: never had it so clear. The huge mistake has been not looking early an alternative route to pretending to be normal.

Yeah I gave up that pretense about 6 years ago. Never looked back. Much healthier outlook

Good for you.

I tried pretending to be normal for a while but after several incidents a couple of years ago(I joined my class mates in some after school activities and it was clear that I didnt fit in) I just gave up.

Im no good at it and I cant pretend for a long period either.

It may seem hard at the start(finding friends...)but in the long run is totally worth it.

It never crossed my mind to try to be normal until recently. I think I've known from an early age that it would be beyond my abilities.

Thanks guys for your comments ((((((hugs)))))).

Yeah, I try hard to appear normal and display normal social skills, especially online. I can keep it up for a while and then I do something so inappropriate or so offensive, something that no NT woman would do, and it becomes glaringly obvious that I dont have that natural instinct for social empathy. I wish my personality was inside a man's body, I just dont really have a female personality.

Normal is overrated anyway, and I'm sure the way you are is just fine. Maybe you just can't see it yet... :)

You've put yourself on a road to true happiness, y'know. Accepting yourself, it's the first step. :D

I think its broader than just pretending to be normal, any type of pretending hurts you.
